Poutineville

I went there last week and I tried a crushed / mashed fries poutine - it was great (I added bacon, tomatoes and regular sauce and cheese) - but ! for a takeout of 2 poutines I had to wait 35 minutes - they have to get a lot faster !!

The best Spätzle in MTL you can get at the Petit Munich in Pierrefonds, they even sell them at their meat counter.
Flammkuchen you can get at the 3 Brasseurs restaurants, there are a few in MTL.
Another alternative for Spätzle is the Vieux Kitzbuhel on Ile Perrot, its an Austrian restaurant.

kpzoo, the only German place that is baking is the Petit Munich on Boulevard St. Jean in Pierrefonds, on the other side of the Loblaws. There you can get real German cakes.

Chinese mooncakes

They have them every year - I ate them there for the last three years.
These are the "cheap" moon cakes, they come from Ontaria (Mississauga) - they used to not be available in MTL, but now you can get them in Chinatown and at Kim Phat for example - 3 for 1.50 to 2.00 $.
