Bludso's Texas Sampler - will it hold?
Is it a logistical thing? Why not take the wife and eat there? There is an outdoor table in the back parking lot. Their Staff is the best and will check on you at the table. It will hold fine although unless your both really big eaters there will be plenty of left overs to deal with. The wait time is minimal.

Exactly, I took my parents there when they were visiting from back East. We we're treated very well and half of us had very good food and the other half wasn't bad or anything.

Check out nearby Beachcomber for either breakfast or lunch. Make reservations for either. Right on the beach and the food is better than passable.

I went for lunch today based on this post. The carne asada taco was smokey good and the chorizo vampiro was addicting. A good horchata as well.
