Hatch Chile Roasting 2010

TV ALERT! Whether you love Hatch Chile roasting, or want to know what the fuss is about, a great show to watch is Heull Howser's California's Gold show on exactly this topic. He goes to the yearly chile sales and roast down in the OC somewhere - La Puente? Not sure. I never thought much about Hatch chiles, but this show had me drooling. But this show is TONIGHT, Tuesday 8/17 on KCET, 7:30pm and again at 12:30am. Definitley worth taping. Enjoy!

Best TAKE-OUT Korean BBQ?

I am going to the market at the Koreatown Galleria this weekend, and will try this cook-it-yerself meat.Would still like to find a good restaurant to get good gourmet prepared meals tho.

Best TAKE-OUT Korean BBQ?

Thanks, I'll try that when I'm feeding takeout Korean to friends.

Best TAKE-OUT Korean BBQ?

I live in Glendale, but I'm willing to anywhere, I guess. But... When I want fine Chinese or Vietnamese food, I go to the SGV. If I want Thai, I go to one of the fine places in east Hollywood. Glassel Park and East LA for Mexican and South American. South of the 101 for, shall we say, soul food and BBQ ribs. And if I want Korean, I assume I'll be in Koreatown, no?
Yes, when I got takeout from Park's, I got a cardboard box with two entrees and about a dozen little styrofoam cups of real good panchan.

Best TAKE-OUT Korean BBQ?

Yes I know there are 5,436 posts regarding Korean BBQ on this board, and I've read them all in the last 6 years. But I've never sen one specifically like this. I like to get food to go from top restaurants around town, and take it home and eat well for the next few days. I'm used to getting takeout from Thai, Chinese and other places around town, but not so much Korean. Even tho I love KBBQ, it's a little different, as it's made to be cooked on grills as you watch. It makes it a little awkward for restaurants to do this, and some won't do it at all. And with all restaurants, i tend to avoid the fanciest places, as I feel I'm paying top prices for the fancy decor and the snooty service, which of course I'm not using. I have got to-go from Park's and it was great, but I feel I'm paying for the glossy ambiance I'm not using. I'd like my fellow Chower's opinions on the best places for take-out Korean.

MIX at Mandalay Bay - Drinks and a view?

There's a semi-fancy restaurant /bar at the top of Mandalay that has the best view in town. Or so I've heard. Haven't actually been, but I'd like to on an upcoming trip. I would like to check it out myself before I bring others. I don't want tp eat there., I'd really just like to have a drink at the bar and go out to the balcony and enjoy the view at about 6pm. I don't even want to sit down, just find a spot at the balcony railing out of the way of others. How do-able is that? Any tips?

Big Mista's - Atwater Village 05/21

Great news! I've been to Atwater, but Eagle Rock Fri nights is much better for me, and I suspect for many others. When will he have Momma's mac n cheese at the Atwater again, July 19 as the OP hints? And when will the M&C be at Atwater? C'mdn, BigMista, I know you're lurking out there!
