Split Pea Soup Problem

Hmmm, I'm guessing over soaking was the culprit. I planned on making this yesterday but it got put off, so they soaked for about 36 hours... Bummer!

Split Pea Soup Problem

I don't know how old the peas are. I'm going to keep it cooking and hope for the best.

Split Pea Soup Problem

I'm having problems with my soup! This was my first effort making split pea soup and the peas have not softened.

I soaked the peas overnight and cooked it for an hour and a flag. I then put the soup in the blender thinking it would be done,

The soup has good flavor but the peas have not completely broken down. I returned it to the stove and let it cook another hour but the bits of peas are still hard. Should I let it cook longer? Any other advice? Thanks!

The Perfect BLT

I'm looking for recommendations on the perfect BLT. What type of bread, bacon, tomato, and lettuce do you use. Here's my typical BLT:

- Toasted white bread (still debating the best bread)
- Bacon (also needs recs for best brand)
- Homegrown tomatoes only
- Homemade Mayo (or Helmanns)
- Romaine lettuce
- Salt and Pepper

Let me know your thoughts on this Summertime treat!

What size pots for tomatos and peppers?

Hey There,

I'm a newbie and picked up two tomato and one Jalapeno plants a home depot about two weeks ago. I transplanted the tomato plans into 9 " pots and put the pepper in a 6 inch pot.

I'm reading that it is better to have 18" to 24" pots for tomatoes. I have no idea about the proper pot for the pepper. Is is better to let be or to move larger pots? The tomato plants are growing but I only have a couple a flowers.

Thanks in advance
