Good place for drinks before late Friday dinner at Marea?
Visiting Manhattan for a few days next week - some work, some play. We have Friday 10pm reservations at Marea (240 Central Park South,). Can anyone reccomend a good/fun place for drinks within walking distance? Rooftop bar perhaps? Not looking for the hottest place in town - just gaood place with a good crowd.

I love Ceviche. The best seats are in the bar area Thurs - Sat. they have live music and serve the complete menu in the bar. Its a little loud - but loads of fun - and yes - they food is very good. MUST HAVE: the pork & veal stuffed peppers in a white sauce - I can't recall what its called in Spanish - but I order it every time there.
I need a weird/exotic food in the Tampa Bay Area for class
Try Jai Ho for indian. Not very weird - but definately not western. Most tampa folks are not familer with indian food.
Ft. Lauderdale Italian for a Group
I lived in FTL for 10 years - up until 4 years ago. My favorite italian was Cafe Vico. I have not eaten there in 3 years - but it was always excellent. I liked it better than D'Angelo. Pastas were always fresh and sauces were garlicy - the way I like it.

Looking for local flavor in Naples, FL Labor Day weekend 2009 - any suggestions?
My wife and I will be staying at the Naples Grande for three nights. I am looking for any recommendations for local, bistro type restaurants for Friday and Sunday. I have heard that some fine dining spots are closed for the summer -so any info on that would be helpful too.
On a different note - can anyone recommend a sports bar with good TVs and acceptable food for Saturday dinner? My wife is a ga bulldog and I am a Gator.

[TAMPA] Jai Ho (Report)
Went to Jai Ho for dinner tonight based on your recommendation. I have eaten Indian food in several places around the country (and in Jamaica) and found Jai Ho to be excellent. Each dish was rich, flavorful and well prepared. We asked for medium spice and it was just right for our moderately adventurous anglo palates. My wife and I cannot wait to finish the leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
