ISO good/interesting restaurant in Calgary

Yes, there is a separate, fairly small, food menu at Meet. Although it was a little confusing to read, because the menu was actually a Rolodex. I do remember that they had poutine. Fortunately, they also had a paper copy of the fairly extensive drink menu, and the few that I sampled were delicious.

Help! Late night Cafes in Calgary?

Not a coffee shop, but Oolong Tea House in Kensington is open until 11pm, Midnight Fri-Sat. I believe they have wifi as well.

Ramen restuarant by Globefish Calgary

The for sale sign says land and building only, so maybe there's still hope.

Indian Food in Calgary

Green Chili is excellent. Good value and great flavours.

I think the 17th Ave location was mentioned in a previous thread by John Manzo and that they were planning on opening up by Chianti's. I'm sure he can elaborate.

Their website also mentions a new location on MacLeod Tr.

Does anyone know if Anpurna is open?

Green Chili (www.greenchili.ca) has good samosas and cheap food - one dish plus rice/naan is more than enough for 2 people. They are take-out/delivery only though.

Vegetarian Solo Birthday Dinner (Calgary)

The veggie place in Chinatown you're thinking of is Veggie House (109-303 Centre Street SW). Its in the mall on the corner of Centre St and 3rd Ave (can't remember the name). Its food court seating, so it may not be great atmosphere for a birthday dinner. The stuffed tofu rolls are really good and I've also enjoyed the dumplings and eggplant chow mein. Prices are also more reasonable than Buddha Veggie.

Can you get Clementines in Calgary?

I believe I saw some at the CFM this weekend, at either the Cherry Pit or Walker's Own stalls

Vogglio d'pizza -- c'mon, Chowhounders, CHOW DOWN! :-)

It was either a Wednesday or Thursday. So maybe not much of an actual improvement:)

Vogglio d'pizza -- c'mon, Chowhounders, CHOW DOWN! :-)

My bf and I finally tried Vogglio's a little over a week ago, and were told 30 minutes. We were (unintentionally) late picking it up (about 45 minutes) and our pizza was ready and waiting for us. Ordered again last night and was again told 30 minutues. This time I intentionally showed up about 40 minutes later, and was told it'd be a couple more minutues. Again, it ended up being 45 minutues, which is not bad at all. We had a Mexicana and Viennese, both were fantastic.

Anyone been to Luxor in Calgary?

Pretty sure its the same place... I was there a couple months ago and it was pretty good, would definitely go back. I had the falafels and the kushari, both were tasty. From what I remember, there wasn't much on the menu that was strictly Egyptian, but worth checking out.

Has anyone tried the Luxor Emporium Cafe or know of any other places that might have Egyptian food?
