The current state of affair seems to be clairvoyant and prescient of what the future will hold for the site (sorry, studying for the SAT so trying to use these dam works, hopefully that makes sense, if not cents).

Best Tamagoyaki on the current scene ?????????? You guys know by that I mean the style and texture and flavor that I would climb mountains for and drive eons and eons for....

That tamago looks pretty darn sexy.

so does this ??????????????

But i always heard this was a seriously second tier to 2.5 tier joint (shunji, mori, even kiriko, being first tier joints).

and you get the pleasure of sitting on an ultra-fashionable crate.

but nowhere else serves their coffee in those cool ceramic cups.

nuff said.

go there after or before Guerrilla Tacos and you've got yourself a $40 fast-food luncheria lunch.

Thanks Burger Boy.

Good to have you back on the board.

i'm lazy hence no on the two stops, i.e. bagel shop followed by the appetizing store for the fish.

it's great to hear that Wexler's is even better than Russ and Daughter's.

And that ain't no joke.

Taco Bell Pre-90s Was Good - Do You Notice the Difference Now?

Taco Bell is still great for me,

And fits that itch.

It ain't necessary for me to recreate this stuff at home.

Just saying.

And time to put an end to this overly long thread. (My computer just can't handle this type of bandwidth).

Nuff said.

But do carry on off-line. :)

btw, has anyone been to that Brooklyn Water Bagel Joint Co, the one opened up or rather using the licensed name of Larry King of CNN interviewing fame ????????????????????

they do have other proteins, i think some type of artisanal bacon, i.e. proscuitto, maybe even duck, and fancy shit like the duck eggs, etc.

i like mustard, just not capers.

maybe capers are like the poor man's caviar or something ???????

yeah, buddy.

veal karl malden.

they never put caper on my whitefish, i think you specifically have to ask for that shit.

i never could figure out caper's raison d etre.

it just sounded worthless to me and seriously degraded otherwise great dishes.

but thought that was just me.

i could go for some of that smoked sturgeon right now.

I'm not the hugest fan.

But I do like it considerably.

The poached egg with salt crystals with the house fermented vinegar sauce on top of greens on top of bread (it's a toast heavy place, of course) is quite good, but roughly 10 bucks a pop and not so filling.

Add in a slab of the chocolate ganache on top of almond butter on top of grilled toast for another 7.50 and it gets costly quick.

it just seems a little too pretentious (read: precious).

back when they had G and B coffee that was a bonus for me. I really like their coffee usually, but it's super fucking strong and i'm usually wired for the rest of the day. But i like how they served it in clear shot glasses.

The jams are ok, but nothing really special in my opinion. I just miss Storefront Deli followed by the rest of my breakfast from Sqirl.

I can easily spend $25 and up and leave not completely satiated when hitting up Sqirl.

blacktop is great, but it's about a thimble full of coffee for about 5 bucks. i love those tiny ceramic mugs they serve it in, though, too.
