My wife and I are coming to town this spring and wanted to do a chef table experience. Does anyone recommend any places that have done this before? It would only be 2 of us. Any ideas are appreciated! I have read that Market 17 does one. I also read about Capital Grille doing one, but we would rather avoid a chain place that we have already been to.

I am taking my wife to Boston this Sunday and wanted to take her to a nice meal. We have done a few different chef's tastings at Top of the Hub and Trattoria Zooma in Providence and enjoyed them. I was thinking of taking her to Mare for the 5 course tasting menu for $75 a person. I am open to other ideas, but don't want to be spending $100+ a person. She is also pretty pregnant (31 weeks) and finds it hard to wait until 9:00 to do the chef's whim at Craigies so that is out for consideration. I tentatively at a res. at Mare as of now but would be open to suggestions. We like American, Italian, seafood type of restaurants. Thanks!

Thank you for this information. I looked at Blue the place is really nice, but really pricey. We have been to Portsmouth 3 times and really enjoyed our experience there. We have been to Maine 2 times, but I wasn't planning on going that far. Thanks for all the great ideas so far.

I want to surprise my pregnant wife for our anniversary this year with a special dinner. I would love to do the dinner in the lighthouse in Newburyport, but probably not the best idea to have a pregnant women going up all those stairs and it is over $500 with the food and trip.

I am looking for something romantic like the lighthouse idea or a chef's table experience. It would be nice if it was in a nice town or city that has scenery like Newburyport or Rockport or Newport, RI. I am from Rhode Island and want to make an overnight out of the experience.
