Texarkana to Memphis via Hot Springs and Little Rock We've been to a down home place in Forrest City, The Wagon Wheel, that was great. Three cafeteria-style buffets, soup and salad, hot foods and desserts. A full menu as well. We we're there on new year's day and had great black-eyed peas, beans, greens a multitude of meats and fish and my husband and son said they ate "the best fried chicken in my life". Sweet, local and homey. |

Thanks everyone. |

We'll be heading back that way, from Ohio to Nashville, Memphis, OK city, Taos, Bay area. |
|
|
We will be driving nearly the entire expanse, entering in Vallejo and exiting in Youngstown, Ohio, traveling 4 days, weather permitting. So, the question is: in between California and Pennsylvania where might we find interesting, good, local food? |

We're Americans looking for advice; hoping to get something local, interesting, homemade. |

We'll be entering in Vallejo, and if weather permits, not leaving the interstate till 4 days later in Youngstown, Ohio. That encompasses Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and most of Ohio. |

We'll be traveling through the US on I-80 in December and wonder if anyone can recommend places to eat, good local specialties/holiday foods to try. |
