I don't understand the attraction of Dangerously Delicious Pies
I guess I am late to the scene. I was at Mama's on the 1/2 Shell waiting for a friend (and it was PACKED). I looked out the window and saw that Dangerously Delicious Pies had opened across the street in Canton.
I went in there and it was empty. I had the cowboy pie and thought it was excellent. Great vibe. Good music and art work.
I've stopped by there a few other times (grab a cup of coffee at the Firehouse) and then roll by DDP for a slice of something sweet.
I haven't been disappointed yet. Maybe they've fixed what ailed them.

Mr. Rain's Fun House
I stopped by there this afternoon with my son. I must say, the service was so good, that I hardly noticed the food. Seriously. There were three waitresses that checked on us through-out our meal, and they place was 1/2 full. The egg rolls were nothing special, but the oyster soup, the pumpkin soup and the grouper sandwich were all tasty. I loved the atmosphere as well. The waitress took my son over and showed him the marble Rube Goldberg and encouraged him to use it. Not only was the staff exceptionally nice, they were also intelligent and perceptive. A rare experience indeed.
Wine Market
I've been to the Wine Market twice in the last two months, and both times I have ordered the lobster salad. The first time, it came without the lime wedges and chopsticks. There was less lobster, and the lobster was overcooked. I thought this was a one-time event, so I gave them a pass. The second time, it was the same, plus, the peas were undercooked. Yuck. I don't know what happened to them, and I feel bad, because this place should be a sought after destinastion. It seems as if there is some cost cutting going on in the kitchen. I hope they turn it around.

Good falafel in Baltimore?
So far, the best falafel I have eaten (outside of the NYC area) is at the Sunshine Grille in Fork, MD. It come complete with a mythology. As the owner tells it, he served a Greek version of falafel that was handed down to him. An Egyptian patron told him that it wasn't even close and gave him his recipe. Whatever the origin, it is spectacular. In fact, so good, that they have sold out on occasion (when I needed it most). http://www.sunshinegrille.com/
Chesapeake Beach MD Area
Thanks James!
Sweet Sue's was really nice. Service with a smile and tasty baked goods.
Chesapeake Beach MD Area
Hey Hounds,
I'm heading down to the Chesapeake Beach (Maryland) area for a long weekend of shark tooth hunting. I'd love some recs for breakfast and lunch places.
Thanks!
Idaho Falls - Help a Hound
Thanks enbell. I was looking at Jalisco's Mexican Restaurant and heard good stuff about Brownstone. What do you think?

Idaho Falls - Help a Hound
Hey Hounds,
I'll be in Idaho Falls with the family later this month. I'd like some recs for breakfast places and brewpubs with good food (for dinner).
Thanks!
Locally sourced organic restaurants in Baltimore that serve lunch
Hey Hounds,
A big part of my job in business development is to go out to lunch with business partners. I have an unlimited expense account. I prefer restaurants that serve locally grown food (including organic meats). I frequent the ones I know, Golden West and Atwaters, but I'd like to expand my options.
What are your favorites?
Thanks!

Crystal Thai
A dozen+ of us will be descending on Crystal Thai in Owings Mills later this month as part of an informal thai eating group I belong to.
I didn't see any reviews here of the restaurant.
Any of my fellow chowhounds care to offer insights or ordering recs?
Thx.
Wine Market
I've been a long time fan of the Wine Market. Their Mac and Cheese is legendary. I went in today for lunch with a couple of friends. I ordered the lobster bowl and asked for their special tater tots.
First, the lobster bowl came with chop sticks - perfect.
It was delicious (as would be imagined) with large chunks of claw meat in their, the lime was a great touch. But enough about that.
The tater tots were amazing. I shared them with my friends. Unlike any tater tot you have ever had, they melted in your mouth.
They were a special item, so I encourage you to hurry down before they are taken off the menu.
Northern VA Rec
We'll be meeting at Mike's tomorrow. I emailed their marketing department and they agreed that their website had some flaws. Pretty cool.
Northern VA Rec
I would have eaten there if you hadn't posted the URL. I almost blew out my ear drums with that lunatic baseball theme. Looks like their web developer totally missed the 'what not to do when designing a website' class. http://www.josiahcole.com/2007/02/14/a-webmasters-19-commandments/
Northern VA Rec
Thanks for the insights. I'm thinking somewhere between Dale City and 495.
Northern VA Rec
I'm meeting a business associate for lunch. We need a rec for a nice place easy on / easy off of 95 in Northern VA. I'd like a place where we can have a conversation and tasty food. Expense account pays for it.
Thx!
Louisana Cooking
It is the crawfish I miss the most. I picked up a decent trap (like a little lobster trap) and have found most of the freshwater streams and lakes around here are filled with them. I'd love to find a good boil somewhere in this region.
Balto lunch: Good, non-chain seafood options?
I had lunch there recently. A couple of observations:
The crab chowder was off the carts salty. So salty, I could hardly eat two spoonfuls.
The seafood chowder wasn't salty at all. Quite tasty, but the shrimp were over done.
I ordered the tuna steak sandwich MR, blackened without the bun with a a side of seaweed salad. It came out MW. I guess, order rare if you want anything other than MW.
That said, the service and ambience are awesome. The rest of the meals were spot on and everyone raved. I guess, being a foodie, I am a little picky....
152 Seafood in Fallston
Hey Chowhounds,
Anyone have any feedback on 152 Seafood in Fallston? My folks are visiting from out of town and it is close by. I would like to get some crabs for them to try. Let me know your experiences.
Copper Harbor, MI Recs
Thanks hounds. I figured the options would be somewhat limited. I heard about the Jam Pot and Haus - I am happy to learn that Haus has local fish.
Copper Harbor, MI Recs
Hey Folks,
I'm going to be staying in Copper Harbor, MI for 10 days this fall. Any suggestions for meals? Breakfast, lunches and dinners. I'll have a car, so I don't mind traveling a reasonable distance for good eats.
Thanks!
Pizza in Baltimore
I moved down here from north Jersey, so it takes a good pizza to impress me. The best I have found in the area is Strapasta. They are cheap, fast and good.

Where can I buy Tortilla Bowls? (Taco Salad)
For the unhealthy(ish) version, I use a wok with hot oil then press an empty coffee can down into the tortilla. Works like a charm. Drain well!
Glen Burnie Business Meal
Mmmmm.
Thanks! I just checked out the website (and menu) http://www.trattoriaalberto.com/index.php for Trattoria Alberto and I am starting to feel hungry. Great suggestion!
Glen Burnie Business Meal
Hey Hounds,
I have got a business lunch in Glen Burnie coming up. Money isn't an issue (expense account), but I would like tasty food and a place I can sit to hear and be heard in conversation. I tried the Thai Cafe this week, service good - food poor to mediocre.
Any suggestions? How is Miss Saigon?
Thanks!
Baltimore Sushi
Thanks for the heads up. I have to do it, corporate lunch and the other guy picked it. I'll get the sashimi (you mentioned it was all right). For all my meals, price isn't an issue, so I'll pay for decent food. I'll let you know what I think.
Baltimore: Cream of Crab soup
Bluestone took it off the menu as of last week. I tried to order it today and was informed of the sad news.
Baltimore Sushi
I've been to Chui's Sushi a couple of times in the last month and found it to be tasty. I usually order sashimi. I'm heading downtown for sushi next month and my friend suggested Sushi Ra. I've never tried it, but he said it was better than Chui's. What do you guys think?
hunt valley maryland + not a chain!
I've had a couple of business lunches at the Greystone Gille in the Hunt Valley Mall. No complaints. They do have a private, chef's room, in the back if you want something a little bit out of the ordinary.
