Decent Chinese in lower Westchester?
I always thought Pagoda on Central Ave. in Scarsdale had a higher quality food.
Peruvian Restaurant in Harrison NY?
Had the ceviche last night because of Lent. Will go every Lenten friday. Great flavor and spicy, as I asked. Brother and sister that own it are very nice. BTW, "Quenas" is a Peruvian instrument.
Yonkers area rehearsal dinner, 70 - 80 people
Try "Olde Stone Mill" on the border of Yonkers and Tuckahoe. Nice space. The places you mentioned are on the water, is that neccessary? This place is on the Bronx River.
Bistro Latino in Tuckahoe
I stopped in on their 2nd nite. Nice decor, friendly staff. Had the tapas of albondigas (lamb meatballs) w/ remesco sauce and 2 cheeses(manchengo and goat). A bit pricey for (3) 1.5 oz meatballs @ 11.00, but the flavor was excellent. Drink prices are average. If you sit at the bar, avoid the seat in front of the kitchen-you can feel the heat. Will return to try more.
starting to plan a party...need help/ideas!!
If August is the month-think weather. Hottest month of the year. If outdoors, daytime-humid, nighttime-bugs. Stay inside for the a/c-a 40 yo man will appreciate that. If you want more upscale and nicer, more mature atmosphere-definitaley Barcelona in Greenwich across from the library. Also depends on afternoon or night, weekday, weekend? More family (kids and out of town relatives), try Taphouse in Tuckahoe.
affordable wedding catering!?!?!?
"affordable" is a relative term. Remember, like most other things...you get what you pay for. Some advice-choose what's most important for you; food, venue, flowers, photography, guests, etc., then put more into the priorities than the incidentals.
Resto Depot Finally Open in Port Chester!
Paramount Brands was a catering customer of mine.
Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie
I don't think you'll find a pie as good as that one from LPC.
Resto Depot Finally Open in Port Chester!
It's in the space where Eber Brothers/Paramount Brands used to be.
Best Fish Fry in Rochester
Just throwin' this out there, haven't been since 1979, but...The Forest Hill. I knew the family.
Bridal shower brunch in lower westchester
Look into the Tap House in Tuckahoe. I see alot of bridal & baby showers there on the weekends. They have an upstairs space and a back diningroom for your size group. The food is better than most brunch places. Plated brunch is $28/person, while a buffet is $24. If that's too high, then you might want to try Fogerty's in Bronxville, Mickey Spillane's in Eastchester, Molly Spillane's in Mamaroneck.

Bridal shower brunch in lower westchester
What day? How many? Low-key or loud? Cuisine-conscious?
Yard House/Ridgehill Shopping Center
Went there this past Sunday to have a drink and see what was going on. The place is dark, large tvs, one big room. 130 taps with 119 different beers. Large menu with a very diverse selection. Some items you don't find on many chain restaurants-rib eye steak, spicy tuna roll and a complete section of "gardien", which is a meat substitute. The bar staff was very knowledgable, not the locals training, but the opening staff from the west coast. I'll go back this weekend to eat-let you know how it went.
Best Sushi in Lower Westchester
Last nite I had spicy tuna rolls, a spicy "Tsunami" roll and some sashimi ceviche from Wild Ginger in Bronxville. Everything was very fresh and delicious, although the ceviche was pricey for the amount you get.
75th Birthday Brunch - Suggestions Needed for Caterer Westchester County - Scarsdale
Riviera's cakes just LOOK good-no flavor. Try Martine's in Tuckahoe. Cakes are both flavorful and well decorated.
Anyone know where to purchase French Macaroons in Westchester?
Martine's in Tuckahoe-EXCELLENT! Variety of flavors; jasmine, rose, green tea, just to name a few and if you like blueberry-it's the best.

A bistro-ish recommendation for New Rochelle area and north
If you like French-Bistro Rollin in Pelham. Food and ambience are great.
Fig and Olive- A Major Disappointment!
I agree. Went last Monday for lunch. Chairs uncomfortable, soup was good, drinks and food way too expensive for the amount you get. Smirnoff on the rocks-$12, my lamb panini had less than 3 oz. of lamb on it, which was sliced thin and steamed. Will not be returning.
Maggie Spillaine's Coming Soon to Fleetwood
Stopped by on Friday, to add to Sloth,s reply, the roof garden is going to extend over the adjacent store also. Adding a bar on the roof next summer. Something I hadn't seen before on the brunch menu-sunnyside up eggs on the burger slider w/ bacon and cheese.
LA transplant craving fish tacos - Westchester
I don't know what an "LA-style" fish taco is but I had the tacos at the Tap House in Tuckahoe and they were very good. You can have them fried or grilled.

Try Martine's Bake Shoppe in Tuckahoe. I've gotten the RV twice and people love it.
Update on Italian Restaurants in Westchester
Angelina's is your place! Great food, you're treated right, efficient staff. The best rib eye and filet in the area if one of you doesn't want Italian. Some people think it's pricey-not when you see the portion sizes. Mamma Assunta used to be good-went downhill since they opened in Bronxville. Hope this helps

Good steakhouse in Westchester?
You might not believe it but Angelina's in Tuckahoe has a great rib eye and filet. Great char and cooked to perfection-EVERYTIME.
Which restaurant has the best bread basket in the westchester area?
Angelina's in Tuckahoe has a good display. Pane de Casa, sesame seeded loaf and fresh-made warm foccacia. The oil and the olives are great that come with the bread. Went to Casa Brusco in Eastchester during RW, their oil was infused with lemon-a nice surprise. Speaking of olives, the ones served at the new taverna in Chester Heights are great-good oil, salt and garlic.
