tonight we were at O Cantinho do Avillez.
Nice comfortable room with good but not "I want to make it at home" food.

Weather is amazing: low to mid 70's.
No one seems to mention manifesto.
Any comment on it?
thank you

We are in Lisbon now.
If you had to choose, would you go to Alma or Bocca?
thank you
Woodward at the Ames
Stopped by Woodward at the Ames on Sat. Basic, plentiful but simple gastropub style food. Had a nice salad, flatbread and fish.
Downside is the tight proximitry of the Bar with the dining spaces (there are two levels with bar and dining at both). We were downstairs and found the room loud and slightly uncomfortable for dining.
Bone Marrow in Boston
Whole foods in the symphony has them from time to time in the freezer section by the meat department: you can also ask them to get it for you.
L'Espalier dessert prices?
my favorite for desserts in the City is at Clio. The pastry chef, Rene Herzog, is doing very creative, tasty and visually appealing desserts: some of the best I have had in the US.
Chef's Table at L'Espalier
The chef table is not "in the kitchen" . It is a small glassed in room with a view to the kitchen.
We hosted a dinner there last night and had a wonderful meal. Portions can be large and everyone left quie full. They will work with you in developing a specific menu for you.
When we have had just a few guests in the room, it was a little chilly.
Market at the W Hotel-Jean-Georges in Boston
It was the classic JG Fois brule and it was done well (we have had it at other JG places). The molten cake was also one of his signature dishes.
Food was not overwhelming in portion size and we left full but not stuffed.
Market at the W Hotel-Jean-Georges in Boston
Ate at Market last night: newly opened in the W hotel.
We had the tasting menu and at $58 it was a well valued.
The food was cooked very well with the developed flavors and presentations that all other Jean-Georges restaurants put out. The timing was also well paced even though they had opened only a few days earlier and the kitchen seemed to deal well with what ended up being a filled room. The menu included three apps, a tuna dish, a foir gras dish and a shrimp dish, two mains, stripped bass and pork loin and a dessert, molton chocolate cake.
The room was comfortable but table spacing seemed tight. We are looking forward to returning.
Help! Venue for Classy 21st Birthday Party
Eastern Standard will let you book the smaller outside patio and front bar area for a private party: great food and even better drinks and the area can do 50 people.
Another alternative is estragon tapas. they have a smaller area they use for private parties but you may be able to get them to let you use the larger part of the place and they can use the smaller area for nowmal patrons.
