Princess Garden Dim Sum
I too was very excited to read this today. I am definitely heading there next weekend to give it a shot. Will report back.
Place to buy super hot peppers locally?
I have purchased the Ghost Chilis from Cub foods and have found them to be no hotter than Habaneros.
I want to eat a whole fish
I agree with the Costco rec. They have excellently fresh Snapper and other Seafood as well that is very reasonably priced. Last week got a huge Australian Lobster Tail for 17 dollars.
A more specific Thai question
Supatra's has vastly improved. If going on a weekend evening make reservations.
Summer Beers 2011
My favorite summer brews are Bell's Oberon, Surly Hell and my all time favorite beer ever.....Surly Bitter Brewer.
Tea House last Friday night.
Went to Tea House on Suburban Avenue last Friday night around 7. The place was dead save for a table of 8 in the corner. Was not greeted at the door and after waiting for about a good 3 minutes we decided to seat ourselves much to the chagrin of our server/waitress. She walked up to us confused with an attitude and said "Can I help you?" I replied "Yes we would like menus and some water." She then replied haughtily "Oh I wasn't sure what you were trying to do." My dining partner replied "Just trying to get a meal." Anyway they continued with the attitude exchange and I decided it best to just try to concentrate on the menu and ordered The Boiled Pork In Spicy Szechuan Hot Sauce and The Shanghai Juicy Sticky Buns. It is a shame the service was horrible because the food here is actually on par with Little Szechaun IMO. I would be willing to return here because the food is that good, however the hostess/waitress imo needs a serious attitude adjustment. I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and let by gones be by gones until she forgot to bring a pen for the check. She was tipped a dollar.
Where's the beef?
Smashburger is better than most of the places this guy listed. Matt's is a joke. For my money The Lodge Burger from The Nook reigns over all.
Favorite Thai Restaurant
Supatra Thai Cuisine since relocating to Randolph and West Seventh has improved immensely. The Pad Thai is tremendous and second to only BTD imo.
Sea Salt opening Friday March 30th at 11:00 a.m.
According to Facebook they will be serving up Seafood tacos, Fried Calamari, Crabcakes, and Po'Boys!
Ngon Bistro Virgin
Agree with The Crispy Rabbit Dumplings. Also you can never go wrong with the locally sourced Fisher Farms Pork or Thousand Hills Anise braised Short Ribs.
DSpot wings..
My brother was raving about this place and I am gonna give them a shot this Saturday. Interested in trying the hottest wings they have to offer.
Live Lobsters?
I have never purchased lobsters or oysters from Shuang Her. I have however purchased some fantastic large head on prawns, you may want to skip on the blue crabs however. Although some are still alive they are mixed in with ones that have expired and makes for a very unpleasant odor.
"Tonkotsu Ramen and Curry House" - is it open yet?
Take your friend to Masu, it will not disappoint.
Best place to buy chicken wings?
Shame about Runyon's. I have heard good things about those wings.
Best Breakfast Ever - Your Favorites
The Uptowner. Cafe on Grand for The Tex Mex or Cajun Breakfast.
iPho By Saigon
This is great news. Did you happen to notice what the new menu items were?
iPho By Saigon
A chain would likely not be able to deliver quality Pho IMO. It's a pretty painstaking process to make a great Pho broth. Were not talking about IN-N-OUT Burger here. I know I wouldn't want my Pho from a bag.
iPho By Saigon
They have done a pretty good amount of renovation inside as well. I hope that by change in management they don't mean they have been bought out by that California chain.

Hi everyone. We would like to apologize for the long wait and to let you guys know that we will be open this weekend, Saturday the 28th, for our grand opening. There has been a change in management and we have also been remodeling for the past few weeks. The hours will be back to normal, Mon. - Fri. 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In addition, we will also be serving bubble tea along with some new entree items. We will be taking credit cards/check cards again. Thank you for understanding and we hope to see everyone this weekend!
P.S. We will be having a new Facebook page coming soon as well.
Best Old School Spaghetti and Meatballs?
I agree Carmello's has the best Spaghetti I have ever ate. They make their meatballs the right way using Pork, Beef and Veal. The sauce is to die for, noodles cooked perfectly al dente and the bread is devine.
2012 Minnesota Burger TDL
I'm just gonna make a personal favorite 5 in no particular order.
Blue Door Pub's Frenchy
The Paul Molitor from C&R's Nook.
Nookie Supreme from C&R's Nook
Cheeseburger from Lion's Tap
Blue Door Pub's Gatsby (Braised short rib, wine reduction and Gruyere) Off the flavor charts.
Best Reuben you've had in the Twin Cities?
Agreed. I live in Mac Groveland so Skinners is pretty close and convenient. Everything I have had there is good but if I wasn't in the area I wouldn't make the trip.
2012 Minnesota Burger TDL
The Twin Cities from Smashburger and The Deluxe from Culver's are as good if not better than most of the burgers on City Pages list IMO.
Best Reuben you've had in the Twin Cities?
Skinners Reuben has a ton of meat. But yeah I don't think I have ever had a sandwich anywhere that knocked my socks off.
Best Reuben you've had in the Twin Cities?
Skinner's hands down. Agree on Cecil's being overrated, overpriced nursing home food.
