40th Birthday Weekend in Philly

There will be at least three, possibly five of us all weekend. Budget is not really an issue.

40th Birthday Weekend in Philly

I am planning a 40th birthday weekend in Philadelphia for my best friend. We are major food people and love Italian. I need suggestions for dinner Friday, lunch on Saturday, the big birthday dinner on Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday. What do you think?

Best Italian in Manhattan???

I am looking for an amazing Italian meal for 3 for my best friend's 40th Birthday. I know there is a huge range, so here are some guidelines:

- any price works -- this is a big blow-out meal so the skies the limit
- we like really good service and eat slowly. We often close a restaurant, so being rushed is not a good thing.
- We tend to order all 4 course - appetizer, pasta, meat and dessert, with dessert being the least important
- We like all Italian, but I would say tend to order more Southern Italian food

We also love a good cocktail from a great bartender, so if they have a great bar or you have a suggestion for a great bar for before that would be great.

Soul Food

I am looking for really good Southern/Soul Food in the DC Area - fried chicken, mac and cheese, collards, etc. I am not looking for good barbecue (I personally love Rocklands), just solid southern fare - any suggestions?

40th Birthday Blow Out in NO

I am leaving tomorrow for my 40th birthday blow out in New Orleans and I am a first timer and a major foodie. We have a few things picked out, but wanted to get some more opionions of things I am missing or mistakes we might be making.

Friday:

Lunch - no choice yet, any suggestions?
Dinner - Brigtsens

Saturday:

Breakfast - Cafe DuMonde
Lunch - Willie Mae's Scotch House
Dinner - Commander's Palace

Sunday:
Brunch - Brennan's
Late Lunch - would like muffaletta - what is best?
Dinner - Cafe August

Monday:

Breakfast - should we just go back to Cafe DuMonde?
Lunch - would like Po Boy - what is best?

Any suggestions for good late night spots with great drinks? Thanks all!!
