San Pedro restaurants
Can anyone recommend a good restaurant in San Pedro, with a full bar, excluding the few touristy ones? Thanks,
The Strand House
Has anyone been to the new Strand House in Manhattan Beach? If so, how was it?
Moving to Brentwood- Recs please
Be sure to try Sor Tino @ SV and Barrington. Osteria Latini is also pretty special, though a little crampted on occassion. And don't miss good old Chin Chin.

Anniversary dinner tonight - Calabasas or Agoura
Cafe 14 on Canwood in Agoura Hills is wonderful...and a bit romantic.

Moving To Santa Monica and searched a lot! Check my list?!
Hard to believe all the chowhounds have left off tiny, authentic Locanda Portofino on Montana. They have positivly the best vodka penne in LA. Also good for celebrity spotting.

South Bay Dinner
Petros in MB is excellent. It's classified as Greek, but it's not ethnic. Gina Lee's (RB) is also very good, though lacking in ambiance.

Pot Pies
Does anyone know of a really good place for take out pot pies on the Westside? All of the store bought kind are too flimsy. Malibu Kitchen's have too many onions for my taste and Daily Grill's has too much gravy. I've come up dry everywhere else for a real gourmet pie.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Hollywood?WEHO restaurant recommendation
Blame it on Chowhound for not having automatic speelcheck.
Hollywood?WEHO restaurant recommendation
Thanks! I told them that chowhounders had a sense of humor.
Hollywood?WEHO restaurant recommendation
Fellow Chowhounders, do you have some good restaurant reccomendations for 4 senior high school girls wanting a fun night out at a nice dress-up place in Hollywood / WEHO? It'd be a somewhat early dinner - 7:30ish on a June Friday night - and price isn't an object...within reason.

Upscale yet relaxing Italian on the Westside?
I'd recommend Vincente also, as others have. Sor Tino is also good - not overly noisy with a nice pation - and the food at Ado in Venice was lovely a few weeks back. (The dining room is a little "iffy" though).

Sunset Strip Restaurant Recs Needed
You must check out the Tower Bar in the nearby Sunset Tower Hotel for food and drink. Great views and ambiance.
great dinner near south coast plaza/costa mesa suggestions please?
Two excellent ones at SCP are the recently opened An Qi - from the Crustacean people in Beverly Hills - and Charlie Palmers. Check out their web sites.
Anisette Brasserie
I'm heading for dinner tomorrow to Anisette and wondered if anyone has had a good experience there recently. The last few times I went, sometime last year, I was less than pleased. If so, what was good??

Looking for special birthday restaurant in westside/santa monica
Tavern in Brentwood is good.
Wine Bar Recommendations
Great seslection at Bottlerock in Culver City (www.bottlerock.net). Will open any bottle if 2 or more glasses will be ordered. Not the most comfortable, however.
Walking distance of Santa Monica & Yale in Santa Monica
Check out Nook Bistro @ SMB and Barry. Also, Guido's @ SMB and Bundy for old school Italian.
Cuisse de Canard Confit
There are many french restaurants that serve it - check Zagat's web site for french restaurants. Problem is finding GOOD confit. Check out Comme Ca in WEHO.
short 4 day trip to LA to BCS game need help with area
I'd go over to Abbot Kinney Blvd. in nearby Venice for eclectic shopping and a multitude of good restaurants. (Check it out on Google). In Pasadena, like everyone else, focus on Old Pasadena for eating and the great Norton Simon Museum.
Mr. Cecil's Ribs, Manhattan Beach
Nope. I'm not bohemian enough to travel too far to get BBQ, particularly with the dearth of decent restaurants in the Beach Cities. Maybe my attraction stems from the fact that I'm not a lather-on-the-sauce affectionado. The dry rub lets you really taste the meat.
Mr. Cecil's Ribs, Manhattan Beach
Just want to alert you to a great new restaurant in the South Bay. Mr. Cecil's Ribs was a real eye opener. Supurb dry rub barbeque (sauce available on each table but better without it), particularly the beef ribs. The St. Louis syle pork ribs were also excellent, as were the surprisingly good side salads and fresh "twice cooked" fries. I can't wait to go back to try the other dishes.
Cache Restaurant & Lounge
Yes, recently, and the food was quite good. However, be sure not to get stuck in the rear dining room. It reminds you of a catering hall...but louder.
Santa Monica, Abbot Kinney, or Main St. dinner recommendations
I bet NY'ers would like Hal'son Abbot Kinny. Request a booth, and though a little loud, the atmosphere is festive and the food very good.
Coffee Throw Down
Not venturing that far east to test coffee, a far Westside coffee surprise - non chain - is the chocolate place Leonidas in Santa Monica.
6th Wedding Anniversary - Need Restaurant
You might check out Vincenti in Brentwood, just off the I-405 on San Vicente Blvd. A great Cal-Italian for special occasions. You could stroll over to Suzanne Goin's new restaurant ,Tavern, for a drink at their lively bar before or after.
Gourmet Take Out
Does anyone know of a good gourmet shop anywhere from Carlsbad north to Laguna Nigel, preferably near the I-5.
Help for an out of towner!
If you liked AOC, try the bar at her new restaurant, Tavern in Brentwood. Malibu's restaurants aren't great but Tra Di Noi in the Cross Creek shopping center and maybe even the new Malibu Pier Club might be worth looking into.
Restaurants with-in walking distance to the Santa Monica Pier................
I second the choice of Ivy at the Shore. Somewhat of an institution...very good food and cheaper (and less formal) than Capo.
Mexican or Italian in Manhattan Beach
Too bad, since there are NO top quality Italian or Maxican restaurants in MB. That said, the best Mexican is probably Mucho on Manhattan Ave and best Italian La Sosta on the MB / HB border. Too bad you don't like Greek, as Petros is the best in MB.
