Thanks everyone for the replies.

Dickson,TN

I am staying over this Saturday night in Dickson. I was wondering if anyone has dined at the High Point buffet there? Also, is the Farmers restaurant still in business there and if so how is the food?

Recs? I-81 in VA from Maryland border to TN

One of my top 5 restaurants is The Log House in Wytheville,Va. I had the best strip steak there. I believe my sister had grouper. It was very good.

Southern Cookin'

I've traveled a lot in the south and I would have to say that my favorite southern breakfast food is biscuits and gravy. The best I ever had was in Tennessee. A place called Anna's in Dandridge. That was 18 years ago and they are no longer in business. The biscuits were so soft and flaky and the sausage gravy(which IMO gravy isn't gravy w/ biscuits unless it has big chunks of sausage in it) was delicious. I also love the bread pudding at Duff's smorgasboard in Pigeon Forge. But my favorite dessert down south is pecan pie.

Best 'chip' on the market

I like Snyders of Berlin BBQ chips. For the last year I have craved Lays Salt and Vinegar.

Katy,Tx

I am leaving this Friday for Katy for a month. My niece recently re-located there and has found some good restaurants. I am looking for a good steak place. Nothing expensive, but in the 20-25 dollar range for a good steak dinner. So far ,all I see is Saltgrass. They don't post prices on their site. I would travel to Houston also for a good recomendation. Also, any really outstanding pizza places near Katy? This is my first post here also.
