New Lebanese, Russian, Mexican "Apportez Votre Vin" Restos?
http://www.apportezvotrevin.com is a great site but I still can't believe there are not more Lebanese, Russian, Mexican of other cuisine type restos that offer "Apportez Votre Vin" in Montreal, Laval, etc. Anyone know of any?
Help with birthday dinner with dancing
Circles at the Dorval Circle has a fantastic dance floor and usually a great band. The cuisine is Italian and quite excellent. Alfredo will take great care of you!
Favourite Chinese?
Speaking of filthy Ming Cuisine on the West Island ranks right up there with their carpet that is almost alive and their chef that comes out with the dirtiest apron I've ever seen, but you know we always manage to go back because the Szechuan food is always so great and it is an 'Apportez Votre Vin' restaurant so value is key!
Deer Garden on St-Laurent also an AVV is also great.
Corkage fees
Les Deux Fours on Bélanger ( which I found on apportezvotrevin.com) charges a $2 corkage fee for a 750ml bottle of wine! I took issue with the waitress on this. I would hate to see this practice spread in Quebec.
'Apportez Votre Vin' in Quebec means no corkage fee! We must enfore it!
best bring your own wine in Montreal
Since I'm on the topic tonight, Camélia des Tropiques on Cote des Neiges is gourmet Vietnamese, soft up scale crowd, fantastique food, the chef must be trained in gourmet Vietnamese cusine and the prices are ridiculously low (I hate to give this place away because the atmosphere is always so great!)
Coba on Laurier is also great Asian, fantastic decor
Kejarki for sushi on Décarie, close to an SAQ, cosy with great sushi,
Punja palace, West Island, a great Indian buffet and 'Apportez Votre Vin' imagine that a buffet and avv!
And Vivaldi Italian cuisine to die for! on the West Island fantastique decor, service.
These are all great bring your own wine restaurants! Only in Quebec do we have it so good!
Top Notch Italian in Montreal?
Try Vivaldi on the West Island. It's an "Apportez Votre Vin' restaurant. The food is fantastic. I think that the chef's come from the L'Institute de l'hotelerie Italian cusine section. Prices are reasonable and every waitress is beautiful!
New 'Apportez Votre Vin' restaurants
Sites like apportezvotrevin.com are great but I can't believe there aren't more bring your own wine restaurants in the West Island or Laval. Anyone know of any new AVV restos?
sushi anyone
Try Kajaki on Decarie in Ville St-Laurent. It's an AVV resto I found on apportezvotrevin.com. The sushi is great, nice modest decor, reasonalble price $$, good service with an SAQ express just next door. Well worth the trip!
Best place to buy Organic Chickens in Montreal?
Having watched a show on French TV here in Quebec recently on how they give antibiotics to chickens in the egg even while unborn to speed up the growth process I am convinced to purchase my own organic whole chickens and prepare meals myself. Does anyone know where to purchase organic chickens. i.e. chickens raised without antibiotics?
Vegetarian BYO
Check out Chuch on St-Denis listed on Apportezvotrevin.com. Never tried it but it is incredible that this city doesn't have more BYO vegetarian restaurants!?
How does BYO work in Montreal?
Just to add, The "Peruvian" restaurant "Les Deux Fours" listed on apportezvotrevin.com under Montreal Centre Villeray section charged me a corkage fee of $2. which I informed the waitress was unheard of in Quebec!
This is a trend I don't want to see take root in Quebec!
Lebanese "Apportez Votre Vin" avpv
Does anyone know of a bring your own wine Lebanese restuarant?
If a restaurant like BSweet would let us bring our own wine it would be great?
History of "Apportez Votre Vin" restaurants in Montreal
Does anyone know how and where these restaurants started. I have read that it started with the owner of the Vieux Duluth on Duluth street. Does anyone know the original restaurants and how did they get their licences?
