Dining in Paradise

On Sunday, when my plane landed, I dumped my luggage off at the hotel and headed north....I went over the mountain to Half Moon Bay and continued up to San Francisco along the coast. Fabulous!

Thank you!!

Robert,
I made it to Chandon and you were so right...expensive and boring. It was so hot the day I was there that I didn't even finish my wine tasting.

Thanks for your response.

Dining in Paradise

Just wanted to drop you a note to say that I followed your advice and am so grateful to you for taking the time to steer me in the right direction. I toured around Napa until the sun began to lower and found Auberge.....what a fabulous view from the deck......exactly what I wanted. I had a lovely glass of wine and just thought I was in heaven. From there I wandered over to Brix and ate out on the back patio....after lounging out in the garden.....it was simply perfect! Thank you, again! I won't soon forget my free time in Napa.

Unfortunately my flight doesn't get in until early Sunday afternoon and I am staying in Palo Alto as that is where my meeting is on Tuesday. I am planning on throwing my suitcase in my hotel room on Sunday and heading north. I was thinking of spending Sunday afternoon and evening in San Francisco and then Monday in wine country. I have had such fun looking at restaurants and ideas for how to spend my brief "vacation". I haven't even made this trip yet, but I know that I will have to plan another, with lots more time, very soon.

Thanks so much for your suggestions.

I got goosebumps when I read your post. That is a dream of a plan and that is what I am going to shoot for as it sounds perfect to me. Unfortunately, Monday is my day in the wine country, so I will double-check to see what is opened. I would like to spend some time at Chandon as I am a big fan of their wines. I do sincerely appreciate your advice. I know I will be in heaven. Thanks!!

I appreciate your suggestions. I really like the menu and pictures of Brix. Sunset at Auberge.....sounds absolutely delightful! That will be my plan.

Thanks mucho!

Dining in Paradise

I fly in on Sunday and have that day and all day and night Monday for fun....to my meeting on Tuesday.

Yes, you are right. I am interested in a great restaurant with views of the vineyards. No, I don't need to be eating in a winery. Just want great food, great wine and a great view...."the whole enchilada".

Thanks.

Robert, thanks for your reply. I think I have a couple of great options in mind, The CIA in St. Helena, Signorello, or Auberge du Soleil! I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

Dining in Paradise

I have a business trip to San Francisco coming up June 21-23. I was able to sneak in one day of fun and I can think of nothing I would rather do than enjoy a fabulous wine dinner at one of the wineries in Napa/Russian River/Sonoma.....Is there anything like that available? I have been to the area since I lived there when I was 7 years old, so I am a "babe in the woods". I would sincerely appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks for your time.
