Dinner for Two with a Vegetarian (BYOB?)
I've been there before and loved it! Looking for something a little less expensive. It does not have to be an exclusive veggie place. Anything in Lakeview or Gold Coast would be great!
Dinner for Two with a Vegetarian (BYOB?)
Thanks! Anything that is a little less money? Not really looking for a tasting menu.
Good Dinner spot with a hard to please group!
We ended up at Beauty and Essex and Chickalicous. Both were a MAJOR hit with the group. Thank you for the help!
Minetta Tavern/ Locanda Verde or Maialino for Vegetarian Brunch
We went with Minetta Tavern and it was a hit for everyone! The meat eaters and vegetarians rejoiced. Started off empty, but PACKED when we left.

Hello Chicago Friends-
I will be in town next week and would like to go somewhere that would be great for a fish eating/vegetarian. I love HB Bistro in Chicago so any other BYOB spots would be wonderful. I am staying downtown on Michigan and would not be opposed to traveling to different neighborhoods.
Any good suggestions? I frequent Chicago often, so anything new would be fun!
Thanks in advance!
Minetta Tavern/ Locanda Verde or Maialino for Vegetarian Brunch
Oh you Chowhounds! You always make it so difficult. I think I may just stay with my reservations to Minetta. The French Toast sounds amazing!
Are the pastries good at Minetta?

Minetta Tavern/ Locanda Verde or Maialino for Vegetarian Brunch
Hello All!
Going to be in town this weekend and was wondering which would be best for a group with a vegetarian who loves pancakes/french toast.
I currently have reservations at Minetta. Is it too meaty?!
Was thinking about Locnada or Mailalino.
Thanks!

How is Beauty and Essex? Is it too trendy and not good food? Sort of sounds fun if we get there early for the group. We now have a 5:45 reservation. We aren't going to the 10 PM show, we are no doing a matinee and then going to dinner. My partner's mom loves Chickalicious, so we will go after dinner.
Thanks!

Public looked perfect! They are closed for a wedding that evening. We are fine with walking. It doesn't have to be in Union Square, just thinking about time constraints. But if we have a 7:30 res, I think we can get to the show by 10:00 PM. I've been to Craft, and I was fine with it. It didn't blow me away. I'll look at Aldea! Is Ciano that expensive? It looks like it could be a good option. We are looking for February 25th at around 7:30.
Thanks!!
Four Nights in New Orleans
We had a lovely dinner at Dante's Kitchen and Jaquesimos!
Good Dinner spot with a hard to please group!
Yeah...it isn't that long of a walk. I thought of Devi, but my partner's mom is a Midwest lady. She doesn't like Indian! We have been to Dirt CAndy, it was fun but nothing I wanted to go back too. Casa Mono looks like the veggie will be eating goat cheese and beets!
Sorry to be so tough!!! Ciano looked too pricey. I guess we can do Italian. But I was looking more outside the box.

We have been to Babbo! Loved it, but want to try something different. We are going to a show in Union Square at 10 PM. It seems like everything is booked already! There is a wedding at Public. Acme is full. Vanadaag is too far east! What to do? What to do?
Good Dinner spot with a hard to please group!
Thank you SGordon! You are wonderful. Vandaag sounds interesting!! I've been to ABC Kitchen and it was ho-hum to me. I was looking at Acme, but it sounds like it could be noisy and I couldn't find the menu online.
Thanks!

Hello wonderful Chow NYC Folk-
My family is visiting the city is visiting the city at the end of Feb. We are looking for a fun restaurant (nothing on either the UWS or UES.)
We have a couple limitations:
1. Nothing too noisy
2. My father is a self proclaimed "foodie" who lives in the city and in the wine business. He usually is unimpressed with a lot of restaurants and says, "I can do that."
3. We have a vegetarian in our group.
4. Something newish, since we have been to many places around town.
5. Non-Asian (have someone with a MSG allergy)
Any ideas? I know it's quite vague..but I am looking for somewhere that would fit the bill. We could do $15-$30 mains.
We like New American, Italian, farm fresh, etc.
Thanks!
Four Nights in New Orleans
Hello Everyone-
My partner, his mother and I are heading to New Orleans directly after Christmas. We are a unique group! My partner is a vegetarian, I am a fish eater and his mom eats almost everything!
I already have a lunch a Commander's Palace on our list. We once went when it was in Vegas and loved it. Anywhere else that should be a "must do" in New Orleans. Is it very busy during Christmas, should I make reservations for a party of three?
Thanks!

It was good, but not worth the total hype. I would rather pay those prices at Alma.
Detroit for a vegetarian
Thanks!
We had a special dinner at Cranbrook School, it was very good! At the Cranbrook house. We went to Traffic Jam on Thursday night. I thought it was quite odd. The Ethiopian plate was fine, but not as traditional than any I could find in Minneapolis. My friend got the crab risotto, that was weird and tasted out of the box. The space was too big and quiet. I would not really return there. On Saturday night our group went to the Detroit Brewery, which was fine. I didn't pick, but it was free! On Saturday we went to Royal Kabob in Detroit. That was fantastic! The little pita bread warm pockets with garlic butter was amazing. The shrimp dish was outstanding as well as the falafel and other dips.
Thanks!

A Vegetarian and a Pescatarian- One Night Only!
My partner and I are coming into town for a wedding. The wedding is out in Buda, TX. We are staying downtown for one night and then shipping out to Buda for the wedding. We have dinners the other two nights we are in town. We won't arrive to downtown around 9 PM.
I have been thinking about Uchi, but am I missing something that would represent Austin better? Such as Tex Mex?
We also have breakfast on Friday and brunch/lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Thanks!!

Detroit for a vegetarian
Thank you, quite a lively discussion! Traffic looks great. I think that will be it for Thursday night and some middle eastern in Dearborn on Saturday! You guys rock.
Detroit for a vegetarian
Hello All,
I am coming to Detroit for a convention and staying at the Westin downtown. My travel partner is a vegetarian and I am a fish eating vegetarian.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Do we need a rental car to eat well? We have the option of renting and driving to different spots.
2. What place would you recommend that is fun and eclectic? We are fine paying up to $50 a person including tax and tip. Anything els you would say are must haves?
Thanks!
Vegetarian Tasting Menus?
Headed to EMP tonight. Should we do the tasting or 4 course? Thanks!
Vegetarian Tasting Menus?
We have reservations for EMP. Now just deciding between the 4 course or tasting!
Vegetarian Tasting Menus?
Thanks! EMP it is! Now I just have to wait 28 days! Also, what are the options for the different menus?
East Village/LES Dinner for 7
Our plane was delayed and we didn't get in until 11 PM. So we ate in Brooklyn! All of that for nothing. Thanks!
Vegetarian Tasting Menus?
Bummer. Found out that Per Se is closed the week we are in town. How about Daniel or Eleven Park Madison?
