I first tried Mt. Angel root beer some years back and found it outstanding: |

Lotsa Local Transexual Shrimp! Thanks for the education. Seasonal prawns in any form are at the top of my must eat list! |

Lotsa Local Transexual Shrimp! Sorry for my ignorance, but is this the same thing as Spot Prawns? |

Best Dim Sum in the International District? They don't offer dim sum, but Uptown China on Lower Queen Anne has shrimp toast on their menu. |

Source for Good Bread Flour In Seatle?? I've been hearing buzz about this place for a little while now. I can't speak from personal experience, but it's local, organic and claims to made from the highest protein sources: http://www.fairhavenflour.com/ (Perhaps you can test it and report back with your findings?) |

Great Garlic Bread in Seattle Area? I agree with H1 - Buca makes a very decent garlic bread. |

Yeh Yeh's in Lynnwood - very close to Edmonds - has the best Bahn Mi in the area, IMO. The sandwiches are a little larger than average, and pricier, but worth it. |

Thanksgiving rolls in Seattle? Thank you everyone for your thoughtful suggestions. I ended up making Rhodes dinner rolls - the frozen kind you let raise then bake. Much to my chagrin my family preferred these to my homemade ones. Well, that's a couple hours saved next Thanksgiving . . . |

Thanksgiving rolls in Seattle? Due to an injury to my left hand which prevents me from making my traditional Thanksgiving rolls, I'm seeking to purchase some ready-made. I prefer the softer variety for this meal. Any suggestions? |

I know Taqueria el Sabor in Shoreline serves it on weekends. Never tried it though as it doesn't strike my fancy. Any menudo experts out there? |

+1 for Freezerves. Their seedless raspberry jam bursts with fresh berry flavor. |

If you are able to make it up to Mukilteo (about 30 min. north of Seattle), Diamond Knot Brewery currently makes my favorite IPA. Per their website: "OUR FLAGSHIP BEER, the one for which we're known throughout the Puget Sound. Columbus hops impart intense bitterness with flavors of grapefruit and a hint of cedar. 6.2% ABV". Worth a mention, at least. |

Surprisingly good food at Harissa Mediterranean Cuisine For delicious - and more affordable - Lebanese fare, check out Cafe Munir in the Crown Hill section of Ballard. Their chickpea appetizer (mezze) and chicken kebabs with garlic sauce are standouts. They also have a whiskey bar, and the whiskey sour I had there was the best I have ever tasted. |

First time to SEA, with 17 year old chow-son -- downtown and stadium district Salumi is closed Sat, Sun, Mon, and is open Tue-Fri from 11:00 a.m. until they run out of stuff (usually between 3:30 and 4:00). |

Help me find good lunch (or brunch) places around our vacation activities! Lunch today (7/18) - head down toward Shilshole Marina from the locks and hit up Paseo - Cuban sandwiches and more - in the bright "flamingo pink" building next to the surf shop. |

And don't forget the Carneceria El Paisano, next to the restaurant, with their wonderful $1 tamales . . . |

Oysters Rockefeller in Seattle? I looked that dish up on the BlueAcre menu and it sounds excellent! I will try it. Thanks for the recommendation. |

Oysters Rockefeller in Seattle? Does anyone know of any Seattle restaurants currently offering Oysters Rockefeller on their menu? |

Any Philly Cheesesteak's in SEA worth trying? In response to my own recommendation above, I visited Philly Boys in SODO for a cheesesteak at lunch today and it was predictably superb. Tender beef expertly seared and seasoned on the grill with sauted Vidalias and white American cheese. They have a side condiment bar where you can add sweet and/or hot peppers (and more onions, if you are so inclined). Plus, the owners - Frank and John - are a couple of the nicest guys you'll meet. Here's a piece Nancy Leson did on the place last year: |

Any Philly Cheesesteak's in SEA worth trying? Check out Philly Boys Cheesesteaks in SODO on 4th Avenue South. It's located in a yellow trailer just south of the Orient Express (formerly Andy's Diner) in the parking lot of the owners' automotive repair shop. I've not had the "real thing" from Philadelphia, but hands down its the best tasting sandwich of this type I've ever tasted. |

Goofy: The timing of your visit should coincide with the Copper River Salmon season. It's expensive, but worth it. Also, local strawberries should be making an appearance then. That is, if we ever get past this drismal winter. |

Fine Dining with Banquet Room and Grand Piano? (Eastside) One of the wineries in nearby Woodinville might fit the bill, however you may have difficulty finding a venue during peak wedding season on such short notice. It would be worth a try. I would start with Chateau Ste. Michelle and go from there: |

The Uwajimaya in Beaverton should have them. |

Tucson rec's for Sunday brunch and Southwest originals Will be in Tucson next weekend with my traveling companion. He is from Brooklyn and I am from Seattle. Looking for "Southwest" cuisine, to include good good Mexican, white tablecloth restaurants, and fabulous baked goods. Particularly looking for a good Sunday buffet. Open to any and all suggestions. |

A Decent Poppyseed Bagel, Or Am I Dreaming? Hey Kaleo: Glad to hear you made it to B'ham to sample my favorite "local" bagel place. If in your wanderings you find yourself in Portland, Ore,, be sure to check out Kettleman's. I discovered them last weekend when I was visiting that city. Quite a decent bagel and a very good bialy. I inquired with the owner if they were planning on expanding to the Seattle area (based on a rumor I heard), but he confirmed that it wasn't in the cards right now, due to the economy. Darn. (But a good excuse to go back down and visit Portland again!). Lemony |

Looking for a Seattle Venue... I would check with PCC Natural Markets to see if their Edmonds demo kitchen is available. |
