If I say RUE Jean-Talon OUEST (west) between DECARIE and St-Laurent in Montreal between decarie and l'acadie, there's La Sirene right after l'acadie there's a good mix of indian and a few greek restaurants, like curry house, bombay mahal, India's Oven... Greek there's village du souvlaki. For typical Montreal Pizza - Miss Montreal |

Northampton - where to eat past midnight ? and breakfast the next morning ? Thanks for the replies! In case we're running late and / or too tired to sit down somewhere, is there drive-thru or fast food open past midnight? Or a grocery store? |

Good pizza in Montreal? If we're talking north american style, it doesn't really exist. The rest all taste the same as the ones mentioned, or manage to be worse, incredibly. Even most greek or italian owned places (where you'd expect quality) use the same sub-par cheese and ingredients, tend to be too oily etc.. One little trick I've learnt is to ask them to use half the cheese and have them put the pepperoni on top, and cook it well done so the pepperoni / ingredients come out crispy and the pizza less soggy. It takes some customized work to have a decent pizza in Montreal. |

My friend and I basically took a bite and simultaneously spat out whatever was in our mouths, tossed the slice in the garbage and the agreed taste of the sauce was 'puke'. Maybe it was a question of bad luck for us - but it's up there as my most vile pizza experience... Not surprising given the street -- if I were mayor I'd close those 2nd tier overpriced restaurants, chase them out of town and have them replaced with owners who will be dedicated to providing good food for the community. |

Is that a joke? Worst pizza I have tried in my life by far...the sauce tastes Like human vomit...sorry I don't usually counter an opinion but this place is so awful I can't control myself |

Can someone suggest to the OP (and to me too!) where to find the best Quebercois or french style bistro in Old Montreal? And where would it rank in comparison to the other top places found outside of Old Montreal? ty! |

I tried Ice House. Too cramped for my liking and wasn't thrown back by the food. I hear they have a terrace up, so I might give it a 2nd try.. I went to Itacate on Beaubien yesterday (yes, not Tex Mex). It was REALLY good despite being too tiny and cramped for me. Great appetizers. One small note, the habanero sauce was surprisingly not that spicy and the one up, ''xxx'', was extremely (and probably too hot for the avg.). They need to make a sauce between the two. |

I went a few weeks after opening with my gf too. We had a burrito / Taco plate (don't recall which ones sorry). We spent $50 for this and 2 drinks. We were in and out in under an hour. We went late - with nobody eating. So it seems to really transform itself into a bar setting past a certain hour. Something to consider if you plan on going late -- and expecting to be welcomed by sweet southern aromas. Perhaps the summer terrace experience will be different. The waiter was friendly and attentive before ordering, but disappeared after ordering. Gave us our food but I had to get up myself to ask for sauces. Also, the place is tiny, and the picnic bench style seems fun... But given the size of this place and the amount of people in it - I felt uncomfortable... and had a hard time buying into the experience consequently. Haven't seen the terrace -- maybe that's the best option for this place. |

Is there such a thing as quality tex mex? 3 Amigos atmosphere and menu, but better quality food...and drinks that are not-so-watered-down...? ----- |

Montreal smoked meat--The Main v. Schwartz's Last time I had smoked meat from snowdown deli (5 years ago), it tasted industrialized... Am I wrong on this?? |

|
Montreal smoked meat--The Main v. Schwartz's ya, Main's might be more moist... but Moist = fake plasticy texture ala Chenoys, Belle Province, or grocery store smoked meat ----- Chenoy's Restaurant |

Dinner in Old Montreal for under $20 per person Not including drinks, what are your top old montreal picks for under $20. Cuisine type does nott matter. Good atmosphere, and service a major plus; most important is the food (naturally!). |
