Two come to mind - Marc Meneau in St Père-sous-Vézelay in 1984 and Olivier Roellinger's now-closed Maison de Bricourt at Cancale, in Bretagne in 2006.
My current drink of choice:
tea; champage , bourgogne blanc and bourgogne rouge - and good rosé in Summer
I really wish I could:
bone a fowl, quickly
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
terrine de foie gras - in winter - and ipintade braisée any number of ways.
My favorite comfort food:
Chinese red-cooked chicken wings
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Can't do this one - too much difference in France between the summits of haute cuisine (to be visited occasionally, the good places (often regional French cuisine) to be visited more often and the cheap, delicious and noisy places to be visited often for an everyday, satisfying meal. Love all these categories!
My most tattered cookbooks:
Everything by Elizabeth David; Stephanie Alexander's The Cook's Companion; Charmaine Solomon's Complete Asian Cookbook; The Spirit House by Helen Brierly and Annette Fear and currently I'm enjoying Easy Marx (in French) by Thierry Marx.
