MOZZA -- takeout?
On CH when you paste in a web address you can't run the address up against any sort of punctuation mark such as a period or a comma or it gets corrupted.
Here is a working link http://www.mozza2go.com/

REVIEW w/pics: Heating it Up at Henyang Chili King
Nice report, as always, Abby. The tofu dish looked great in the photos and the lamb dish also had my salivary glands kicking into overdrive. Sounds like you may have to go back with someone who speaks/reads Chinese to get the most out of those 170 dishes. Abby, I imagine you didn't really mean there is a dearth of Chinese restaurants in the SGV, but maybe breadth or depth instead? In any case, thanks for another stellar review.

Jitlada suggestions
If you go to the place link and look through some of the reviews you'll get some excellent ideas on dishes to have. Generally you want to concentrate on their Southern menu. But really, you need to consult with Jazz. She will be a great guide, based on what you tell her regarding your taste in Thai food, getting you to the right dishes.

Dinner recs for Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, etc.
If you hit up Monte Alban for Oaxacan food you can go about a mile afterward for drinks at Liquid Kitty http://www.thekitty.com/ on Pico Blvd. just west of Barrington.

Unusual Eating Experiences in the Los Angeles Area?
That is one of the places that Dr. Bruin recommended above (Quality Seafood) and a long time LA board favorite.

Strange restaurant event
This particular happening may need to be classified in a different category from the others in this thread. Perhaps it should come under the heading of "Restaurants that play Practical Jokes on their Customers"?
I was on holiday by myself in London and I made friends with an Aussie who was staying at the same B&B as I was. He said he was waiting for two friends from home (Melbourne) to show up and that they were planning on renting a car and driving around GB for a week and wondered if I wanted to join them? What the heck.
We were coming back from the Isle of Skye and had stopped for the night in some small village whose name has escaped me. The one little restaurant was open and we went in for dinner. Very friendly folks with a smattering of locals eating in the dining room (maybe 10 or 15 other people). Sue ordered a curried chicken dish and after the waitress gave it to her Sue asked her if they had any chutney to go with it. She came back with a little jar with the lid still in place. When Sue unscrewed the lid one of those joke snakes went 3 feet in the air and Sue screamed. The whole dining room started laughing, all of them knowing what was coming. We had all jumped and we ended up cracking up along with everyone else. Talk about a "Scottish Surprise" - one I'll never forget.

Good pizza near USC?
We like Pitfire too. Just sometimes I want a bigger pie than their one "individual" sized pie.

I'm sure I've seen that episode in one of the Fawlty Towers reruns.... ;-D>

Breakfast downtown on Thanksgiving Day?
Thanks for reporting back. Dim Sum makes for a fun and delicious breakfast. You might really enjoy going to one of the places that doesn't have carts and ordering exactly what you want off the menu next time.

Ultra-Casual, No-Reservations on Thanksgiving?
They are such nice people. I keep getting free stuff from accumulating points on my "Pann's Frequent Dining Card" too. A great deal all the way around. Happy Turkey Day.

Best fried chicken in LA? where is it?
In 2007 it was $30 http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/4578... for the fried half chicken dinner (with the two sides). Did they downsize the price, along with how much chicken you get?

Best fried chicken in LA? where is it?
Probably not a idea to at least forewarn those that might be interested in trying the chicken here as to the cost of Boneyard Bistro's fried chicken, so they don't go in, say "I don't need a menu" and order it - only to get hit with a $30 pp (or whatever it is they are now charging) plus tax and tip for a meal most people would be figuring at half of that.

"One problem is that I go in for an $11.00 sandwich and wind up leaving with a whole hand-cut pastrami briscut, a dozen slices of double baked rye and cole slaw."
That doesn't sound like a problem. That sounds like an opportunity seized. ;-D>

Best Wine Bar that also serves good food in LA?
A bit of a "left field" recommendation, but a very interesting place - Bar Pintxo in Santa Monica.

Sushi recs (maybe Zo?) with pregnant-friendly choices
Maybe not quite the level of Zo or Mori, yet still very good sushi and an excellent selection of cooked dishes can be found at K-zo http://www.k-zo.com/ in Culver City. It gets confused a lot with Zo because of the similarity in names.

Haven't been to Luna Park of late, so if the food has gone downhill then I take that idea back. I don't think Bloom is too casual. Casual is good for a first date. Leaves you some "up" room for down the line.

Eat 24 Hours Delivery Service in Los Angeles
Can't recall having seen this service recommended on the LA board before or not? The places that do deliver in the LA area tend to have pretty pathetic restaurant offerings. This model seems to have tried their best to overcome that problem. Anyone tested them out yet?
