Had lunch there yesterday. It was fabulous and the people could not have been nicer, It's on Hwy 52 between Gilbert and Welch. Had great pan fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and cornbread. Desserts loked great but I didn't try them. Everyone there was very nice -recommend if you are in the area.

Just got back from my trip. Thought Mona's in Pikeville and the Rusty Fork Cafe in Elkhorn City were just OK (Had lunch at Mona's and breakfast at the Rusty Fork). Nice folk at the Rusty Fork.
Eastern Kentucky - need recommendations
Have another trip planned in Sept. where I will be on I-75 from Cincinnati to Corbin before taking 25E to Johnson City. Plan on hitting the Rootbeer Stand on that trip.
Thanks for the suggestions - Mona's sounds like a good lunch spot.

I will be going and staying at the Breaks Interstate Park on the VA-KY line next month also traveling to Pikeville to check out the Hatfield -McCoy driving trail and also the elk in Knotts County. Are there some places not to miss? I'm open to all cuisines. Looking for places in Elkhorn City and Pikeville. Will have 2.5 -3 days in the area. If anyone has gone to see the elk in this area would appreciate the best place to see them as well.
Best Pizza in Raleigh

Where should we stop for lunch in Eastern NC....?
Naco - What was the Mexican place on Hwy 117A in Dudley that you referred me to last year? I thought it was very good? Not far from Cliifs of the Neuse state park.
Bar in Durham?
I actually like the Down Under Pub but you would not all be able to sit together. They have excellent wings and beer selections. Bull City Burger and Brewery has gotten good reviews.
Metro 8 Steakhouse on 9th Street has a great covered patio which is a very cool place. You get get out fairly reasonably price wise if you just ordered appetizers. Great mojitos.
West 94th Street is good but pretty small.
James Joyce also has a patio as well in the back.

I will be going through Dallas this fall - land at 1:45 pm and connecting flight is at 5:05 pm. Want to meet a friend from Dallas outside the security areas - any recommendations in the main terminals outside of the different terminals?
What's the name of the White House BBQ with 70's/80's New York Yankees photos in the Raleigh-Durham area?
It might have been Don Murray's on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh which closed a couple of years ago. It had a white exterior like you are describing. They offered AYCE with chicken and BBQ and all the side dishes.

Need some help finding caterer to cook a pig pickin near Bennettsville SC
I believe there is a Revel's BBQ in Bennettsville, SC - they might be willing to cook a pig for you.
Buffalo Wing: Anchor Bar, Duff's or else?
Went to Anchor bar last Thurs. I've from NC so I'm not a wing expert but i thought the hot wings there were very good.
Niagara Falls Canada on a budget
Would agree with Antica Pizzeria - got a great dish of meatballs with penne pasta there for around $ 10.

Breakfast in Niagara Falls
^ I went to breakfast at a place named Basell's (sp?) on Lundy Lane in Niagara Falls, ONT last Fri. They had great Canadian bacon which I had never had before. Had to cut it with a steak knife - also had scrambled eggs and brown toast (whole wheat toast). Very nice atmosphere and I paid around $ 10. Would recommend. Don't know if this is the same place that Imcpcun is referencing.
Triangle Area - Family visiting, and I'm new - where do we eat??
Try Metro 8 Steakhouse on 9th Street in Durham, NC. Argentine style steakhouse with great food and service. Have always been thrilled everytime I've been there.

Breakfast in Lenoir, Taylorsville or Statesville, NC?
Will be there Sunday morning. Anyone have a good recommendation for this area -local place preferred.
Sunnyside Oyster Bar
I went last Tuesday night. This place is great. Had a super time.
Need Nags Head, NC recommendations
Just got back from the Outer Banks. Would highly recommend Sam and Ormie's for breakfast as well as Mama Kwan's - great blackened fish tacos and a cool vibe. Went to Kill Devil Grill for dinner one night and it was good as well - had crab cakes but liked Mama Kwans better and it was less expensive. Duck Donuts is good as well as they make each donut to order.

Naco - here is my update from my trip. Went to Flo's and got a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and a couple of other biscuits which are still in my refrigerator. The biscuit was great. Went to Abram's and got one of thier cheese biscuits which I think the cheese is melted into the biscuit. Bigger fan of the biscuits at Flo's which rank up with the best I've ever had. Nice folks at both places.
Jason's Grill was closed and appears to be permanently closed although the door the front area was open. They are sporting a C rating of 74.5 so i don't think I wiould be eating there anyway.
Went to Cliffs of the Neuse State park. Very interesting with the Cliffs being there in eastern NC - not to be expected. After having to go around a detour due to the bridge being out about 1.5 miles from Grady's I made it to Grady's. Wass excited when I saw all the wood out back when I drove up.
Got the BBQ sandwich with slaw and potato salad. They were out of blackeyed peas and some hush puppies. I thought it was very good and added some of their sauce. Had the banana pudding for dessert -very cool and creamy. Very nice people there - got a pound of BBQ, and pints of cabbage and potato salad to go along with another banana pudding. I'm thinking now that Skylight Inn is the best that I have had recently but Grady's is up there.
Then went to La Cuata - went in there with my cheat sheet from your recommendations. I'm the 3rd person that is gone there this week based upon your input. They told me that you should come in and introduce your self. Very effiicient place and most people were eating menudo or beef stew. They were not making moles that day. I go the chicken with onions and peppers to make it spicy and one chorizo taco and one pastor taco. Very tasty. Had that for dinner that night. Really liked the chicken dish. Highly recommend and would go back if I was in the area. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone have a recommendation in Snow Hill? I will be going through there on Sat. It appears the Hardee's is closed so I'm having trouble finding the place that surfnpainter is talking about.
