Fun place to take young niece in Twin Cities, MN

I forgot about that place. What a good idea. I have eaten brunch outside in the summer and enjoyed. Back years ago when I went there at night for a drink it was too noisy for me. Maybe lunchtime would be much quieter. Thanks for the memory jolt.

I want to take my 20 year old niece out for lunch and want to find a place that is fun, different, entertaining.... She hardly ever goes anywhere as she is always studying or taking care of the dog or... I think she is turning into a hermit. I'm frantically trying to come up with a neat place that would give her a fun break from her day. Prefer in St. Paul or Mpls suburbs. Downtown is fun but a parking hassle at Holiday time.

KALLYSTE MOVED

I know Kallyste moved as I told a friend about the restaurant a month ago and she went there and loved it. ln talking with the owner she found out he was relocating to I believe Woodbury in late September. Anyone know any more information on the location?

Any good non-chain restaurants ...Newport Mn area

Thanks KTFoley... I had already looked at some of these sites but not all. Thanks for the information. It seems like many end up a bit further than I'd hoped for. I don't mind going out of the area... which is what we usually do. I hoped for more in Woodbury or Newport but maybe those will come as the cities grow.

The Woodbury Cafe is new with a large menu. Very good crabcake benedict, and waiters are super! We go to the North Pole about 2x's a month. Their blueberry pancakes are yummy!

Apparently not... that's what I thought. There aren't any.

MSP - Food stores other than WF

I would personally go to Costco. You'd have to drive about 15 minutes west of the airport to either Eden Prairie or St. Louis Park. Fabulous everything and large amounts. Good wines too. Love their guac and flatbread crackers. Great seafood deals too. Much better than Sams Club I think anyway. Also Trader Joes for wine. Their burritoes are tasty, microwavable and cheap. You have to go to St. Louis Park for TJ. New one will be coming I think to Woodbury by fall so maybe next summer if you come back...

I've lived in Mpls and Edina most of my life. Lots of great non-chain restaurants there. Got married 3 years ago and now live in Newport which is next to Woodbury. My husband and I
often take the drive west to the good restaurant options but would love to know if there are any great non-chain restaurants on this side of town or a little closer. Maplewood, St. Paul Park, Oakdale, Cottage Grove, Inver Grove, South St. Paul, St. Paul, Woodbury, Newport. Any and all types of food... just thought maybe someone would know little gems in odd areas. Pizza, sandwiches, old supper clubs, burgers, anything that's not a chain. The Indian Palace in Woodbury is pretty good but more a lunch spot. The Polar Bear is a nice and close by breakfast spot. Hoping for places maybe 20 minutes at most away.
