I agree with your analysis but, I think you need to up each category by $750-$1,000 per person.

Here's the thing - nine years ago we went to the Eden Roc - the food was wonderful as was the programming - I gained no weight since whatever I tasted was delicious, I didn't need to take the next bite or try the next item because I was satisfied with my first choice.
Another year we went to a program (NOT this year) where the food was not good and the programming horrible. I gained weight since - a. I kept trying stuff hoping something would be delicious and b. I ate out of boredom.

It's really not skechy - have been there after dark by myself to pick up an order and it's fine - the area looks tougher than it is - there are nice stores there as well as punky ones and while it's not a typical suburban crowd (to say he least) it is safe. Also, we have found the food to be good the many times we have eaten at each location. Of course, comparing burger.org to Max and Davids is comparing apples to oranges.

we were at majestic retreats at westin in FLL, Florida - program costs about half of what the expensive ones charge and while the food isn't fancy it is tasty and plentiful - breakfast and lunch were buffet style -tasty and with good choices - dinners - except for the first seder - were less creative but still good. beach across street and beautiful - speakers very good, but rabbi lamm was advertised as heading the speakers' program and only spoke once - (that was what was scheduled). the program is very kid friendly - kids seemed to be having a lot of fun.

the beach was wonderful - very accessible and they had water, fruit and chips down there - no problem getting a chair (free) and umbrella was included - that made chol hamoed for us - we didn't have small children with us.

We were with Majestic Retreats at the Fort Lauderdale Westin Beach Resort and Spa thru Tuesday night, of chol hamoed. This program costs half of the fancier ones and I believe you get good value. The food was tasty but not fancy - breakfast and lunch (dairy) buffets were varied and plentiful - Dinners were fine, but with the exception of the first seder meal, not special. Kiddushim were basic - fish, sweets, tuna and egg salad -, but plentiful and fresh. Tea room was was nice - food was fresh - but when there was a special item - like chocolate dipped strawberries - they weren't refilled. Crowd was low key and mostly "mizrachi." hashkafah. I don't know if I would go back - it was: "nice" and a good value but again, still thousands and not amazing - Also, there was a daily afternoon barbeque and barbeque two of the chol hamoed evenings we were there.

Sometme between 1978-1985 the NYT published a recipe for a potato kugel where you were not supposed to peel the potatoes and you could use a food processor. It was a great recipe and of course I have misplaced it. Does anybody have a copy

We went to Lasko's Florida Aventura program in 2010. The food was not good. The scholars in residence were not good. They had set up candle lighting for the first night of yom tov out at the pool - it was a windy night and candles were almost immediately blown out - questions of bracha levatalah certainly existed - This is an all inclusive program and frankly they take advantage of that fact.
We have been at Lasko's Miami Beach program another year. That program, which is much more expensive was amazing by comparison.

Does anyone have experience with Elite Dimensions Orlando programs?

We are considering elite dimensions orlando program for pesach 2010. I know it was a few years ago, but could you tell me if that is the program you refer to and if so, how was it?
