Where to take an 18yo girl from out of town

Public or Stanton social is perfect, thanks. Who the hell suggested going to elmhurst? Really?

Where to take an 18yo girl from out of town

(not a date)
My niece visits once a year and im short on ideas. Shes done the sushi samba and pastis thing, I'm thinking more LES or Evill. Less sex in the city. Food type not important, no budget ... Just atmsphere and scene.
Thanks

Daddy's got the night off! Need a suggestion for last minute walk-in or bar dinning.

No specific 'hood, no budget, no type (prefer non-Italian, no sushi).

I was thinking along the lines of:
Hearth
Casa Mono

I was not thinking:
Gramercy Tavern
Gotham Bar & Grill

Any suggestions? What's new?

Looking for fresh from-the-farm chicken ...

Thanks all.

Looking for fresh from-the-farm chicken ...

I can't seem to find farm raised chicken merchants at any of the greenmarkets. The vendors who sell eggs, do not sell chickens. Is there anywhere in Manhattan where one can buy from-the-farm chickens? Please do not point me to Whole Foods.
Thanks.

lunch salads

Couple suggestions. I just started work around there and discovered Cafe Macaroon or Macaroon Cafe. They have legitimately European salads, Mediterranean mostly. Menu is on website

Also, if u want to sit down hit Freds at Barneys for a chopped salad

Moving to UWS from Union Square .... need help with recs.

Looking to plot my new neighborhood (near museum of nat history), have limited experience. Where can I find the equivalents (or near equivalents) of the following: (I am aware the is a shake shack nearby, thanks)

City Bakery
Otto
Republic
Bar Jamon
Bread Bar/Tabla/Tamarind
The Grey Dog's Coffee
cheap tacos

Thanks!

Where can a couple of 40-yo married guys go for drinks?

Haven't been "out" in a while, but we've both got the night off. Somewhere after work where we won't stick out in our casual friday attire but won't feel like we're two guys away from the kids for the night. WV, SoHo, Union Square. No Murray Hill, no UES. Food important (of course), but not a priority.
Thanks!!!

Hallo Belrin cart ... where is it?

I checked yesterday, 54th & 5th. Wasn't there. Did it move or was I looking in the wrong place.

Grand Street fresh pasta help

Does anybody know the name of the fresh pasta store on Grand Street (i think), just east of Mullbery? They have a bunch of dried pastas in the window ... north side of the street. HELP..

Is dip as good as I hear?

Please, skip dip. It's more of a loungy frat bar for the cheesy neighborhood kids and their first dates. And for some reason, they have more tv's than a sports bar.

Why is it so popular to bash Peter Luger's?

I don't get the surliness of the waiters. How exactly is that supposed to be enjoyable dining?

EV ... I miss my old 'hood. What's new?

Moved out a few years ago, been lazy about getting back. What's new and exciting? Done Saam/Momo done Hearth. Looking for a small place, any type of food besides sushi, any price level. Thinking something small-ish along the likes of Brick Lane, Lucien, Quartino and a lot less like Max, Lil Frankies, Boca Chica.

Thoughts?
Thanks.

cheapish, food near 30 Rockefeller plaza

Tuscan Square, south side on 51st between 5th & 6th but go downstairs. They have a serve yourself. Best secret in midtown, IMHO. BUT ... they raised their prices for the new year. Still good food for the price.

Strollers in Restaurants

I was tripping over strollers at Landmarc at Time Warner Center.

Best Private Dining Rooms in Manhattan?

wine cellar at 21 Club. VERY elegant but not stuffy. waiters & somelliers are very friendly and not hovering & overbearing.

Irving Mill or Blue Hill NYC?

Skip Irving Mill, at least until they get their act together. Won't go into a rant, or a long review ... just say that they need to work out the kinks. We had to ask the manager to take our order after our waiter forgot about us. My chopped liver, or chicken liver pate (I forget what it was called) was exactly that, no different from what grandma used to make. My wife's octopus came out rubbery, what a waste. The monkfish was rather dry, not really sauced or flavored well. The chocolate bread pudding dessert really runny, not thoroughly cooked. THe menu looked GREAT, they just need some time to get it together. Not writing them off yet. Good celeb spotting though ... won't say who.

turkey burger?

Anticipating getting berrated .... I like Burger Heaven. It's one of the few that I've had that actually keeps mostness and has flavor ... not the dried & overspiced type found everywhere. So far, it's my favorite.

Are you a cheap date?

Cafe Habana
Republic
Rice
Tanti Bacci Cafe

Wine Bar in Murray Hill/Flatiron District

On a side note, how is Punch? That's my block and I've always been hesitant about going in.

Oyster Bar in Grand Central--whadd'ya think?

Me third for being way overpriced. I remember the food being very good, but hardly worth the $$$$.

Old-School, Italian Red Sauce Restaurant

Rocco's on Thompson Street ... with the hanging sign. I remember having the staples: clams casino, veal piccata ... "antipasto" with cold cuts, peperoncino, tuna, canned olives, etc.

Anybody got some info on Milk & Honey?

Yeah. Me too!

Chickpea is going back FRIED!!!!!

Used to eat there a lot until I got fed up with their surly & snotty attitudes.

Going It Alone - Solo @ LB and JG?

Curious ... I've been to LB, but didn't see anybody eating at the little bar they have there. Is it a "drinks only while you wait" bar, or has anybody ever eaten there? Thinking more of lunch.

no tap water - and no good food - at Trattoria Pesce Pasta

I would have said 'no thanks' to either options, asked for an empty glass, filled it up at the sink and gave him a lousy tip for lousy service.

Best Turkish in Manhattan -- Pasha, Beyoglu, more?

I believe 101 is closed.

Tavern on the Green...

I'd hardly desrcribe it at trendy. It may have been back when the airport was called Idlewild, but it's not much better than banquet food you'd see at a Marriott wedding or barmitzvah.

any restaurants that give complimentary dishes?

Rudy's - free hot dogs.

Lunetta NYC

This is my review from last week. Not impressed.
