I would recommend dining in the bar at Delaney's or Halyards. Both would fit you bill well.
Where to eat in Jekyll Island
I live on st simons & there is very little to draw me to Jekyll. Seajays & Lattitudes have gorgeus views & Wharfrats play some killer acoustic dead. St Simons best experience you won't get most places is Southern Soul. It has been discussed in several other posts. Best Fine Dining is Georgian Room @ Sea Island tons of local vegetables & menu changes with that is available, Extremely expensive. Best normal scale fine dining is Delaneys do not let small menu scare you. generally 5 or more special apps & entrees.
If you want incredible local shrimp in a true dive B&J's in Darien. Fri & Sat nights Indigo in Brunswick is your best bet near Jekyll, very eclectic fun menu.
Flying into Jacksonville-driving up to Savannah
B&J's is the best bet for shrimp near 95, if you want a scenic detour 30 minutes off of 95 to St Simons Island, Southern Soul is the best barbecue in the area. Tuptim Thai on 341 in Brunswick is the best food within a mile of 95.

Moocow has reopened, but Jayson is no longer associated with it so they are buying the ice cream instead of making their own. Have not been to Renos senc Rene took over Nachos up by Brogens North is better than Los Arcos was. Island Chop House has opened in the old Pub location. Moon is a partner in it. I am waiting for the crowds to level out before I try it.

Fred House is more consistent, on a good night Bennie's can be great then on another night it will be horrible. Both have survived the test of time. Bennies for 50+ yrs & Fred for around 30 years.

Delaney's is my favorite of the 3 the published menu is minimal with more app & entree specials than the published menu. Halyards is popular but not quite as good as Delaneys. Fred House is solid seafood & steak for seafood I would go to Darien Steaks are cooked over wood.

Jones is a hidden gem I travel an hour to get there just for lunch from St Simons.

If you are here on s friday the prime rib at ssbbq is a must get, be there early they run out, on Mondays the Marley is great a wrap of jerk chicken, grilled pineapple, black beans & jack. For seafood travel 30 minutes to Darien & have the shrimp at B&J's fresh local shrimp you get twice as many shrimp for less money than on SSI. Darien GA -- Fried Shrimp or Oysters for dinner?
Speeds id good, overall better than B&J's but it is out of the way & the shrimp at B&J's are better. The snack is 1/2 lb of shrimp and 1 side the dinner is over a lb with 2 sides, Definitely a better choice than the buffet. We are very lucky to have Tum Tim. The luch menu is abbreviated, but entrees are around $10 & include great soup spring rolls & a small sweet, that are all extra at dinner.

Pho 1 on Altama is another lunch choice. Also if you go to St Simons Stop into Moocow for great ice cream Jayson normally has wild favors like bacon, corn or habenero, This week he had fresh blueberry. brie & peppercorn. They also have all normal flavors & nitro shakes.

B&J's for Shrimp & oysters in Darien. Tum Tim for Thai in Brunswick on 341 north of 95 in Winn Dixie Shopping Center. Do venture to St Simons for Southern Soul Best Cue in the area. For lunch in the downt town area Indigo Coastal Shany is a great choice.

If it is not too hot, Southern Soul, but most of their seating is outside, If you are in a condo or house get Southern Soul take out. Kids love the pork. Also go to Moo Cow for Ice Cream have flavore for every one. CJ's or Sals Pizza to go both have small dining rooms. Blackwater & Gnats Landing in Red Fern are good choices.
