Trader Joe's?!?
I also read that In-N-Out is moving to Texas. Hopefully Florida will follow suit in both regards. I suppose I could always move to Texas!
New, coming to Miami in 2011
An online inquiry on Sir Pizza's website got a same-day response from management: hopefully by Mid July.
New, coming to Miami in 2011
I see there is a Sir Pizza opening on Biscayne Blvd in North Miami. Anyone have any information when it will be open?

Best Organic Produce - Farmers Market in Miami area
There is an awesome farmer's market in Liberty City that started up two weeks ago. My wife affectionately calls it the 'Ghetto Farmer's Market.' Don't worry, it is a cultural experience going to this area of town and the market itself is safe.
The market is all local farmers with a large organic selection. The best thing is...it is super cheap.
They run from now until April.

Lychee sightings - 2010
I saw lots of lychees on Red Road/Old Cutler in the Gables a few weeks ago.
I did spot fresh lobster on Red Road last weekend. A bunch of kids were selling out of an SUV.
Norman's 180
Once they open up for lunch in August, I am there to try the wig (dining options with a five-month-old are limited at night).
French Macarons in Miami area?
Perricone's sells them in bulk. Break out your checkbook though...

New or Coming to Miami / Dade - 2010 Edition
We have been here twice thus far, 1 breakfast & 1 lunch. We hope this place catches on. I hear it can get busy for Sunday brunch, but our Thursday lunch and Saturday breakfast were dead, dead, dead.
-The cookies are to die for. The redneck in the kitchen made us a half dozen of the oatmeal when they ran out of the big ones...warm and gooey out of the oven is crazy good. We also had a giant chocolate chip after a Saturday morning breakfast.
-The baked goods are amazing here. Before our breakfast, they brought us a plate with a selection of morning treats: Sticky Bun, Almond croissant, shortbread cookie and a scone...all rocked our world.
-Try the V juice (carrot, apple & beet)...it's worth all 600 pennies.
-Salads are good.
-Wasn't a fan of the BBQ pork...until I dipped it in the accompanying meat drippings.
-Grilled cheese was tasty, 3 cheeses. Though borderline too cheesy for me.
-Banana-cinnamon smoothie is phenomenal.
-Brioche French toast is drenched in cinnamon butter and, well...just meh.

Anything new or coming to Dade late '09?
Almost sounds tempting. If I could find easy parking I may go.
Pizza in Miami
I just remember hearing talk on the boards of the Herald lifting ideas from our posts.
Pizza in Miami
The Herald article looks a lot like the pizza crawls...curious...

New or coming soon '09 edition (Miami)
Charlotte on the Beach is so good! That garlic aioli is to die for!
New or coming soon '09 edition (Miami)
I have to say I had Kingdom off of CH recs, and I hated it. The burger was way too big (they start at 1/2 lb.) and overcooked...like hockey puck overcooked. When you ask for medium rare, you want a cool pink center...not a grey lifeless mess.
Thumbs down. Oh, and $4 for a PBR? You've gotta be crazy.

I chatted with a member of Hakkasan's corporate office, and the restaurant is planning on opening in January or February of 2009.
North Miami Rumblings...
Went once. Liked it. Wife hated it. Never went back. Bad, bad location.
North Miami Rumblings...
I drove past 21 a couple days ago and thought they were doing pretty poor as well. I haven't been there in about a year (mainly because they always seem to be closed when I drive by). The location seems bad to me. They need foot traffic. I liked the burger I ate, just hated the damn bun.

Pardon the ignorance...what the !@#$ is a mozzarella bar?
Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries Tampa
Actually, I just wish we had an In-n-Out and I would skip 5 Guys entirely.
Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries Tampa
Happy to report we finally tried as well. I thought the bacon cheeseburger was great. Tasted like a backyard burger of many youthful summers. Juicy, covered with assorted toppings...decadent. The fries are the bomb! When you go, split your order and get half cajun and half regular fries. I do wish they served milkshakes though.
Local (Miami) restaurant owner killed
Maximiliano DeVita, co-owner of Sopranos and Che Sopranos, was apparently shot and killed by an 80 year old man over a disagreement.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the DeVita family and friends.
Le Tub - Does it live up to the hype?
I am finding mixed reviews of Le Tub in Hollywood. Recently, Le Tub made the Style.com Hamburger Hotlist. http://men.style.com/theupgrader/living/hotlist/hamburgers
What do you think fellow Chows? Is their $10 burger worth it?
