Downtown Toronto Suggestions - Birthday Dinner + Poutine + Dumplings (Etc)
Right in the Royal York is the Epic, and I believe they do a brekkie buffet that is similar to a "full Irish breakfast" with the sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, etc. as well as the other usuals.
ISO : Fresh Duck Eggs
King Cole Ducks has everything from duck eggs to duck fat, duck confit, duck spring rolls, smoked duck, and on and on, fresh and frozen. The store is at the farm at 15351 Warden Ave just north of Aurora Rd. Interesting place! Oh yeah, 9-4 seven days a week.
Five Guys coming to Oshawa
Exactly..it's nothing you can't make as well at home..although the amount of fries impressed me.
Please add to my list of good, cheap, inexpensive FOOD in Toronto (Downtown, Scarborough, North York, Markham/Rich Hill)...
Get the dish at Babu wrapped in the banana leaf (lampree?) with choice of meat or seafood plus 5 curries and a ton of rice, boiled egg, sides of onion slaw and soup, etc. for 8 bucks and you've got tomorrow's lunch too!
Chicago Pizza Kitchen in Maple. Easily the Best Pizza in the Toronto area. Worth a delivery charge.
I would guess there'd be a sufficient customer base with a huge Italian population in Woodbridge surrounding the restaurant..if Italians eat pizza and Italian sandwiches, that is..
Weekend In Kitchener
I always have the buffet at The Crossroads in Elmira when I'm in the area..great homestyle Mennonite food. Also, the pork hock dinner at the Heidelberg House just north of St Jacobs, and pig tails at the Blue Moon cafe in Petersburg, not far from KW.

Brunch in Aurora or Newmarket?
If you're talking Mother's Day, both Chinook and Aw Shucks are serving brunch. Both have good reps, but don't usually have brunch on other days.
Cheap eats in Niagara Falls
For brekkie, you'll get good. hearty food for prices from days gone by at the Falls Manor on Lundy's Lane.
ISO bpa-free tuna in Toronto
I believe the biggest leacher of BPA from the can or lining is tomatoes and tomato products--I only buy sauces, crushed tomatoes, etc in glass even though it usually costs more.
Any great restaurants in the Newmarket/Aurora, Ontario area?
Haven't been, but I hope it's better than its prior iteration, worst meal I have ever been served was there (can't think of what it was called then, I guess for a reason)
Spicy pickles Toronto?
if you're closer to York Farmer's Market, there's a brand of jarred spicy pickles I've only seen there called "Putter's" that are very tasty..near the Stuart Carroll stall.
Rodeo Brazilian Steakhouse Rodizio anyone tried it?
It's a well-thought-out system; some really tempting things on the salad bar, then after a pause, the rice, broccoli, black beans, etc come out--then the meat on skewers-- I admit, I fell for it and didn't have the room left for as much meat as I would have liked to demolish.
The Burger's Priest - Queen and Coxwell
Good point! My experiences all along in general have been that a highly touted burger or a pizza, etc. can be rewarding, but maybe not so incredibly much better than many others to justify high gas prices and parking fees, etc. to go and try it out.
Good restaurant near Pearson?
Zets food is simple, very good fries, huge souvlakis, not fancy.
ISO chopped/diced tomatoes NOT in cans
If considering other brands, Chef Michael Smith says whole tomatoes are not cooked in the can, unlike the chopped and crushed type that are, so I would think even if in a BPA can, there'd be less hazard.
Chicago Pizza Shack (Hamilton)
Did that National Bakery have those amazing morsels called taffy tarts like the one in Kingston had years ago?
Looking for---- Amaranth grains and sour cabbage
Would this be like brined cabbage for cabbage rolls? If so, the only place I've seen them is Food basics at Shops on Steeles, Steees/404
Coffee/Dessert Place near Woodbine & Steeles area?
There's a shop in J-Town that sells great creampuffs and other pastries, but not sure about the coffee antwhere in there..others might know.
Best Cheap Eats in Toronto?
I would as well, but are the Pho places open as late as the Koreans?
Best Cheap Eats in Toronto?
Lunch I like a bubbling bowl of pork bone soup and depending where you go you get up to 10 small sides-all for about 7 bucks, cheap eats for sure.
Need Indian take out appetizers for dinner party-Toronto
Babu at Bur Oak and Mccowan in Markham.
Blood Sausage / Black Pudding in Toronto?
Think I saw it on the menu at Lickin Chicken, Airport Road. If not, lots of other goodness there.
Pink Burger. Huh??
I've driven by about four times now and the "open" sign is on, but nobody's home..
Warming Winter Chow-Treats - what are some of your local favourites?
How can a nice bowl of Pork Bone Soup that arrives bubbling at your table not make you warm all over?
Healthy/simple eats between Aurora and 401 (404 corridor)?
Late, and perhaps u a;ready have done it, but the new Longo's has lots of prepared food
Polynesian & Hawaiian Food/Restaurant in TORONTO
As far as Hawaiian is concerned, maybe no restauranteur wants to risk a place serving Spam, as it might be disregarded...;>)
KETJAP MANIS: Where can I purchase a good one downtown?
I just checked my bottle I bought at Pusateri's and noticed it's "Conimex" brand, product of the Netherlands! (Owned by Unilever) Did I get taken?
