Little Neck Clam's Profile

Looking for a good meal in Eastern Queens.

I also like Conti's and Kebab House which are on Northern Blvd. in Little Neck. The Greek Islands is over there as well, and their whole fish and vegetable dishes are excellent.

Sripraphai Expands!

Has it actually opened yet? Also, it's further east on Hillside Avenue in Williston, not New Hyde Park.

Great Indian Queens

I ate there last night for the first time and loved it. We had vegetable biriyami, chicken 65 and the mixed tandoori grill and tandoori roti. And I took a lamb vindaloo to go. Everything was so well cooked, lots of great spices and I loved the heat levels; there was a lot of heat, but it didn't overshadow the other flavors. I found everything delicious and am already looking forward to those leftovers.

Pine Court Chinese Bistro - Yummy authentic Chinese in Little Neck

I'm also a fan. I haven't had the dim sum yet, but a simple dish of roast pork with green veggies and fresh mushrooms was excellent. I also like the duck dumplings.

Red hook Vendors still open?

I was just there on Sunday and they're all still there. Lines pretty reasonable too. On another thread, I believe Kathryn mentioned that she was told they would be there until about mid November.

Skyway Malaysian

Franklin Station Cafe in Tribeca has wonderful chicken curry noodle soup. I can't compare it to Happy Joy's, but it's Malaysian and delicious.

Kerala Kitchen-Much ado about........

I recently went for the buffet at Kerala Kitchen. I enjoyed most dishes. There was a nicely spiced yuca dish that stood out. Santoor is my default place in the neighborhood. Their chili chicken is very good.

Little Neck

I'll second the recommendations for Conti's, La Baraka and Nelson's Grill. I also like Kebab House in that area. Sushi and Family is a good place for rolls. Going a little south to Glen Oaks, you have some nice Indian restaurants on Union Tpke and Hillside Avenue. Santoor is a favorite. For pizza, either Centre's on Horace Harding at Little Neck Pkwy or Joe's Place II on Marathon and Horace Harding are both very good.

Best Ethnic in the city...Greek, Thai, Indian???

For decent Thai, try Pongsri on 48th, between Broadway and 8th Ave.

Altadonna in Little Neck

A huge Asian market called New York Supermarket has just opened where Fabric Bonanza was. It's on Horace Harding Blvd., just east of Marathon Parkway in Little Neck. I was there on Sunday and it's terrific.

6th St Indian

It's spicier than vindaloo, but not outrageously so. I was there with a few people, so we shared dishes. I liked it, but I wouldn't have wanted to eat the whole dish myself. And a raita or lassi helps!

Seeking Malaysian Sensation

Franklin Station Cafe in Tribeca is quite good. Their curry chicken noodle soup is great.

East Village BYOB

Sigiri is a Sri Lankan restaurant on 1st Ave. between 5th and 6th Street. They're good and spicy.

Help my noodles

I'm new to Thai cooking, so I was searching some curry recipes here recently, and I remember someone suggesting adding peanut butter to reduce the heat, though I haven't had to try it myself yet.

Chinese (Malaysian?) Curry Noodle Soup

Franklin Station Cafe in Tribeca has an addictive chicken curry noodle soup. I notice they have seafood laska, but I've never tried it.
