Smallest entree ever!

Be tempted! The osso buco at Madeo is fantastic. Also was a big portion when we ordered it.

What order at Craig's in WEHO?

I also really enjoy the chicken parm at Craig's. Got two meals out of it last time after eating the appetizers we ordered.

Moving to the Valley, what's good?- Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys

I've never been to Rustic Spoon, but Inthanon Thai is definitely legit. Their website is still "coming soon", but here is the menu posted on the eat24hours.com site:

Moving to the Valley, what's good?- Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys

There's a fairly new Thai food place called Inthanon Thai that opened up a few months ago at Burbank/Whitsett next to Bar One that I just got around to trying last weekend. I ordered the coconut soup, Pad See Ew and one of their specialties, Inthanon Fried Rice. The fried rice comes topped with slices of their homemade Northern Thai sausage. Everything tasted great, this will be my new go to Thai spot in the Valley! The standout was definitely the sausage, which was very flavorful (lemongrass, curry paste, kaffir lime, etc.) and had a nice spicy kick to it as well. I used to live in Hollywood and go to Thai town all the time when I had a craving for Tom Kha - Inthanon definitely fits the bill, I'm just bummed I waited so long to try it!

VFW Posts, bars ????

My father is a member of the American Legion post in Newport Beach. One of our favorite things to do is go there and have a few cheap drinks on a sunny afternoon - it's right on the water with a view of all the docked boats. Also has great views for the annual Christmas boat parade.

What restaurant do you really really really miss that is now closed ?????

I think we have the same tastes - I liked both of those restaurants too!

Trader Joe's Yay/Nay Thread - January 2014!! [OLD]

Second the NAY on the Bacon Cheddar. Thought it would be a good cheese to top burgers and/or use for a grilled cheese sandwich. I had the same problem as you - didn't melt well at all and the taste seemed off (probably b/c it is processed cheese).

Hollywood dinner spots-not too pricey.

Third for Cleo! Love that place. You can order a few dishes to easily share with the group to try a little bit of everything.

I got Fritos! Where's the Chili?

I've never tried it, but how is the chili at Jinky's in Studio City? Only been there for breakfast/brunch, but they have a variety of different types of chili on the menu.

Favorite TJs salad dressing

I love the fat free balsamic dressing. Usually on a shelf near the refrigerated section.

With al-cazar in Encino closed, what other options are there for meze?

Al Amir Lebanese Cuisine in Valley Village (Laurel Canyon/Magnolia). They have my favorite baba ghanouj! They're closed on Mondays though. I like this place a lot better than the Cedar House which was also mentioned.

SANDWICHES - LA Dish of the Month (July 2013)

Had lunch brought into work today from Simplethings. There were two large platters of different sandwiches to chose from and I decided on the Prime Rib sandwich. It was really good, look forward to using the BBE that came a couple of weeks ago to go there and try more from the menu. I really liked the "jammy onions" that this sandwich had, could have even used a little more IMHO.

In-N-Out new "secret menu" item

"Monkey Style" burger. Has anyone tried it yet? Consists of animal style fries on top of the burger.
