Craving Lamb Shank, in town 2 nights
Years ago while on a business trip to SF (from Seattle) I stumbled into a bar (attached to a restaurant) near Union Square with a fabulous wine list and had the Best Lamb Shank Of My Life. It was on a bed of de Puy lentils, crispy, tender, oh my mouth is watering now!
where should I go to try and relive this experience? Not too expensive please.
I will be in SF 2 nights and other places on the top of my short list are Nopa, Bar Tartine, and Yuet Lee (ate there years ago and loved it!).
thanks!
Need help narrowing down eats for upcoming weekend
if youare going to the Ballard Market, have brunch at Bastile
Bow Hon SF Dim Sum?
Sorry, I meant, the edge of Union Sq area, near Mission.
Thanks, Tian Sing looks interesting. Coming from Seattle and we don't have much interesting in Dim Sum up here, have to go to Vancouver for the good stuff.
Best Drinking Chocolate?
Who has the best drinking chocolate? a heavenly demi tasse of rich heady silken seduction?

Seattle Sunday dinner for 6, low to mid price
Help! Looking for a place to take 6 people for a sunday evening dinner that is not expensive but really good. Wanted to go to pair but it's closed on Sunday. Any suggestions?
Wild Edibles lately?
Anyone been to Wild Edibles Murray Hill lately? Had a great Lobster roll there about a year ago and considering taking some co-workers there next week.
thanks
Seattle/ Eastside Breakfast in small meeting room
sorry, I guess all my suggstions are downtown Seattle. There are a lot of new restaurants at Northgate mall, perhaps one would have a space that meets your requirements.
Seattle/ Eastside Breakfast in small meeting room
I think Cafe Vita has a space you can use at their main downtown location. Also Top Pot donuts upstairs area and Zeitgeist in Pioneer Square.
Help a DC couple plan their Seattle vacation
Mashikos in west seattle if you are going for omakasi (sp?)
Help a DC couple plan their Seattle vacation
excellent list cocktailhour. I would add to that Boat Street Cafe, Kisaku, and Cremant.
Seattle: Decent food, water view, quiet?
I also recommend The Oyster Bar. Very romantic. It's your Anniversary? Get a room at the Majestic Hotel in Anacortes, the next day have breakfast at The Drift Inn. If you really want to travel NOTHING beats the Sooke Harbor House near Victoria for both food & lodging.
Has Wild Ginger Always Been this Bad?
No, once upon a time I craved a visit to Wild Ginger. Those days are years past. My last visit was actually an embarrasment as I took friends assuing them it was one of my favorites. It was terrible. All the meats, lamb, beef, chicken(!) were tough as old shoe leather. The shrimp smelled so bad we didn't even try it. The duck is still good, very good but the mochi (sp?) that came with it tasted freezer burned. In fact, the whole meal reminded me of airplane food.
Try Monsoon.
New place for business lunch in Seattle?
Anyone been to Barolo for lunch? Place Pigalle recently? Any new places that would rock my boat for lunch? Matt's still excellent? Will travel for great food ('cept not to the eastside - no time to get back, factoring in the inevitable traffic) Lunch in mid-week, if it was Friday I would go to Mistral.
Thanks!
SD dining near Horton Plaza?
Ah yes, that would be Le Panier where you got the pain du (au?) chocolate. Any bakeries in the downtown area we should not miss?
Thanks all for the recommendations!
SD dining near Horton Plaza?
Thanks.. I have been searching, it's tough when you don't know the area. My short list is
Cafe Chloe, The Linkery, Urban Solace, Candelas, Mama Testa (not sure about the neighborhood), Red Pearl, Currant, and Jsix. I am still looking for Mexican in the moderate to low $ range. All of these would be for dinner.
If you were coming to Seattle I would recommend The Baugette Box for a Drunken Chicken Sandwich and Truffle Fries, Cremant, or Le Pichet for a French bistro, Boat Street Cafe or Eva's for Northwest Cuisine, La Carta De Oxaca for Mexican food that makes you dream of their sublime roasted red chile salsa, Smarty Pants for a pint of local brew and a miss piggy smoked pork sandwich, Lark for the best duck confit ever and Harvest Vine for tapas. Where would you send me in Downtown San Diego?
SD dining near Horton Plaza?
Will be in SD this weekend and staying near Horton Plaza, anything for dinner within walking distance or short cab ride?
Prefer moderate $, seafood, latin. extra bonus points for good Oxacan.
Also like Korean, from the boards it looks like Buga Korean BBQ is worth a try, any comments?
Thanks!
