It was Tippin's. They closed in 2004 but still have stores in the kansas City area.

Nate's in Allen closed. That location is now called Hook's Landing but i haven't tried it.
Best place to buy grills?
Haven't had any problems with low & slow on the BGE. However, i had learned a lot about fire control with my Weber Smokey Mountain. It's very easy to get to hot real fast with a BGE and harder to bring temps down since the ceramic holds in heat so well so i start out with a small fire (lump charcoal & a few chunks of wood) and regulate the airflow closely.

I have both a Weber gas and a charcoal grill (and a Weber smoker) and have always been very pleased with them (and weber customer service is great if you need advice or parts). However, i got a Big Green Egg last Christmas and the Webers are now basically in storage until my son gets a house. I LOVE my BGE and used it for everything.

Bodacious BBQ is an East Texas chain that's pretty good. Several on I-30 (i think Greenville, Sulphur Springs and Mt. Pleasant).

Can't recall the name of your hole-in-the-wall restaurant but it's at the intersection of Lamar and Willow Street (east of downtown)

5th street Pizza in Allen has great St. Louis style pizza. The Mighty Meaty is great.

Babe's in Sanger is worth the drive and if you like Cajun, Frilly's is a good choice.
Where to buy Louisiana sausage in DFW?
Brookshire's Grocery stores sometimes carry Manda brand sausage (I've found it in the Allen and Wylie stores). I'd call first but have gotten the regular, spicy & green onion sausage at the Wylie store.
