Olive Garden to Replace Jersey Freeze in Freehold?

Hold on. Apparently the latest is that the JF property sits on both Township and Boro lines. The township has used all ther liquor licenses but the Boro hasn't. Floor plan too big to locate everything in Boro property. Can't have a bar and then people no alcohol with your dinner. So say my connected neighbors.

Long Branch - Options

Board members, need help. Going to Long Branch tomorrow and am ne wto this area. Where should my wife and I go? Not a formal date just hanging out with my baby.
thanks!

East Bay Restaurants: please help me expand my eating ways

Try Bay Wolf and Rivoli. For BBQ Flint;s or Everett & Jones down by Jack London is worth a shot. For Dim Sum try Tin's tea House or Jad Villa. Neighborhood place check out Mezze on Lakeshore, also Soizic near Jack London.

Dim Sum For Dinner

South of Market in one of the alleys Natomas or Jessie etc there is an outpost of YankSing, I think it opened after they closed the chiantown location and before the Rincon Center was open. Try Yellow Pages

Princeton, NJ and Surrounding Areas

my wife and I have tried Mediterra and Teresa Cafe for italian in Princeton. Certainly good. If pasta is your mood that evening go to Teresa's. Enjoy, report back and let the board know.

Thin Crust Pizza in Mid Atlantic area

In Freehold try Federici's on Mian Street and in the Pond Road Plaza (strip mall) try Attilio's. There are also a few good places on Staten Island but I can't remember the names.

"Only in San Francisco" Restaurants

If you are going to go to Sausalito I would take them to Guymas. Its not fish but it is different. I think Yank Sing and Slanted Door are right on, given what you are looking for.

Top 10 cities for foodies - Comments Chowhound?!

I can't believe SF is not on the list. Its much easier to find great dining in SF than NY. Then there is the added bonus in SF of more Asian/ethnic fare that is top notch. NY does have consistenly better pizza. Latly east coast restaurants tend to have wine lists dominated by French wines instead of CA. No way that LA makes this list.

pizza

Absolutely Arinell's. My wife is a Jersey girl and that was the only place she was happy with when we lived in the Bay Area. Also on Lakeshore in Oakland try Arizmendi. Its a bakery but they sell pizza. Problem might be the hours as they close around 8 or 9PM

Nice brunch near deYoung

I would also say Park Chow but if that doesn't work for you try PJ Oyster House on Irving not too far from Park Chow. Enjoy.

Alfreds, Bobos or Harris Steak restaurant San Francisco

I am a fan of Harris's. The decor is what you would expect in a steakhouse. Dark, lots of wood. The cocktail of choice is either a martini or scotch neat. Nice bonus for us carnivores, the meat is raised at the Harris ranch in the Valley so its local although I don't think its grass fed. If you are into experimenting try the steak tartare as an appetizer, again very very good. Prepared tableside. Crowd is dressed appropriately. Enjoy!!

Portofino's

Sorry, its in Tinton Falls off of 537.

Mortadella love & Amatrice Mort. Inquiry

If you ae in SF itself try Molinari's in North Beach or virtually any Italian deli. There is also another one on Chestnut as you are heading toward the GGB its on the right. I think its Lucca's or De Lucca's. If you are in the East Bay, try Genoa's on 51st & Telegraph right off the exit. All these places carry zampone as well. I'll bet your nonna took you to Genoa's WC location 4 years ago.

PS if anyone can recommend a place in the NJ/NY area for the same please let me know.

A "Crash Course" in Seattle Dining...?

Here are a few suggestions. View and Seafood - Pacific Palisades. Fun Bar Etta's, Also good for seafood, Dahlia's. Couple of places on Eastlake and Westlake for breakfast. If he likes coffee must try Cafe Vivace, you'd think you were in Italy.

Portofino's

My wife and I moved to NJ from the SF Bay Area about 2 years ago. We've been exploring Jersey restaurants trying to find favs like in Oakland, Berkeley area we came from. Tried Portofino's recently.

Good bar, nice menu. Why do they have 10 special appetizers followed by about 7 more special entrees? Seemed ridiculous to have so many. If they are special is because they are limited. After that the food was good. Disappointed that the gnocchi were baked or al forno. Other pasta dishes were on par. The appetizers and drinks were the best part of the meal. Cream in the cannoli was very dense, a special request to make a zabaglione was turned down. I thought you took egg yolks, sugar, marsala wine and in a double boiler or shallow pan quickly cooked them and chilled.

Jersey favs are still Spargo and Nicholas.

Another Dim Sum Suggestion Request

I'm sure you have gone already so I hope whatever you decided worked out. I'm originally from SF and have yet to find a YankSing equivalent. Even in Oakland's much less famous chinatown, there are Tin's, Jade Villa and Peony's.

the best SANDWICH in (San Francisco) period.

Rina,
You sound like an ex-pat NYer. Go to Brothers Deli in San Bruno or San Mateo. My wife is a Brooklyn/Jersey girl and when we lived in SF she had the same complaint. Ben Braun, the Cal basketball coach has been known to eat there and the guy can eat.
