Hudson/Marlborough, MA Fish Market Meat Market Farm stand?

Also try Loews in Northborough or the Country Sooper in Upton for meats.

Hudson/Marlborough, MA Fish Market Meat Market Farm stand?

Small farm is on 62, not 117.......

However, I like Bolton Spring Farm on 117 in Bolton and Indian Head Farm in Berlin better.

The sweet corn at Indian Head Farm in Bolton (Just north of the rotary beyond Solomon Pond Mall) is better than any corn sold at Small Farm.

Where is the best thin pizza in Metro West

Sorrento's: http://www.sorrentospizzerias.com/

They have locations in Concord, Acton, and Harvard.

Chorizo sausage

Skip whole foods. Drive to Lisbon Falls: http://www.sausagekitchen.com/

Hidden Jewel, close to 95 Northern Ma?

More or less, unless you go up to Portsmouth.

Hidden Jewel, close to 95 Northern Ma?

Flatbread Company or Amesbury Ale House in Amesbury,Ma.

North End on a Thursday night?

Gov't center is $10 and Sargent's Wharf $11 in the evenings.

Both are an easy walk to the North End.

Unpasteurized Apple Cider

It's all about e.coli.......

Unpasteurized Apple Cider

It's legal for orchard's in MA to sell unpasteurized cider at their own location.

Honey Pot in Stow has the best I've found in the area.

best place to buy bread for sandwiches?

The molding issue is mainly specific to Nashoba's Sourdough. It will go bad in 3-days if not used. I've found you can put it in the fridge after day 2 and get 2-3 more days out of it. However, the best uses for it after that are french toast, panini's or grilled cheese. It loses quality after refrigeration, and isn't as good for regular cold sandwiches.

Carver Hill Orchards

Carver Hill and Honeypot are only 2 miles apart, and closer if you are coming from 117. Now that it's apple season, I only go to Honey Pot on a weeknight, because it's too crazy there on the weekends.

I like Carver Hill. Really nice people and good apples.

There's actually a 3rd, really good option nearby in Bolton - Bolton Spring Farms. Right on 117 2-ish miles past Stow,Ma. They have fresh veggies from the farm, as well. Might be my overall favorite.

495, Worcester and north--orchards and lunch close to the highway?

If you like Carlson's enough to go back, the Harvard General store just down the road at the intersection of 110/111 has George Howell coffee by the cup. They also have some assorted baked goods.

Pick up coffee there and then go apple picking.

best place to buy bread for sandwiches?

Most Stop-N-Shop's sell When Pigs Fly and Nashoba Brook Bakery breads. I prefer Nashoba - especially the sourdough, and it makes a delicious grilled cheese. If you find yourself near West Concord, you can buy the bread at the bakery.

Website also has a phone number to find where near you their bread can be purchased:

Why is it so hard to find ribs at BBQ joints, in Maine, that have not been pre-boiled?

If you are ever up in the Bethel/Sunday River area: http://smokingoodbarbecue.com/

Lazy Dog Marlborough

Definitely give them a try - a clear step up from the Lazy Dog, IMO. Welly's is in the old Mi Ranchito space in downtown Marlborough.

Lazy Dog Marlborough

Opens for me, but I use Foxit reader and Firefox, not Adobe reader or IE....

Maybe the direct link to the menu might work? http://www.wellys.us/uploads/New_Dinner_menu_for_websites.pdf

Good Pizza found in Orleans,Ma.

Finally stopped in the Lost Dog in Orleans,Ma. a couple of weeks ago after always seeing their sign indicate "brick oven pizza". Checked the online reviews (for what they are worth..) and it seemed to be an "ok" place.

Ordered a pie and a Harpoon to wash it down with. Surprisingly, the crust came out perfect. Didn't even mention "well-done" when ordering, yet it was just that. One of the best thin-crust pizza's I've had in Massachusetts, Cape or not.

Stopped in after the beach on 8/5 to see if it was simply luck or they knew what they were doing. Pie came out perfect again. No sogginess present in the crust. Held up perfectly for the toppings.

Perfect casual place for a thin-crust pizza if you are in the area. Haven't ordered anything else on the menu except mozzarella sticks, so can't comment about it. This was also at the Orleans location where 28 and 6A split - not the Dennis location.

Top 5 of the Cape

"Those that love Girardi's aren't likely to appreciate Nauset Beach Club."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing to do with it. I like lots of places serving Northern Italian cuisine - just not a big fan of theirs. The last 2 times we went there, we left feeling we should have dined somewhere else instead.

Top 5 of the Cape

Went back to Alberto's 8/4, and though I'll agree the overall food quality is better than Gerardi's, the service level and execution isn't.

It took 3 trips to the kitchen to get the 2 dishes we ordered correct, and service was slow/basic. It seemed a lot less busy, so maybe lots of people are also experiencing indifferent service?

Top 5 of the Cape

I went to Gina's for the first time last week and was unimpressed. Forced valet parking in a tiny parking lot, and the food was just ok. An 1 1/2 wait at 8:00pm? Silly. I wouldn't go back unless I was staying somewhere close to Mayflower Beach.

One could probably do better to stop at Chapin's and order one of their Italian dishes.

After a second consecutive meh experience at Nauset Beach Club, I've written it off. I wanted to like it, but it just doesn't work.

Top 5 of the Cape

Gerardi's Cafe not in the top-5 Italian places on the cape??? I find the food quality consistently better there than Gina's or Alberto's.

Recs for Bridgton, ME area

Hannaford or Food City in Bridgton for groceries. Ken's Cove in Bridgton is a seafood market with live lobsters, clams, etc.

The Bridgton/Naples/Casco area is mostly casual restaurants. Not a lot of fine dining.

Italian - Venezia's. It's a small place, so call ahead for a group of 15.
Casual Pub - Black Horse.

Naples - Flight Deck, Bray's, Sydney's, Lobster pound, Black Bear Cafe.

Best places for VERY spicy food??

Why not just ask them to make whatever you ordered spicier? Say this tastes great, but I think the cook forgot the hot peppers?

Mie Goreng

Anyone know of any places in Boston that serve a nice spicy Mie Goreng?

Framingham: La Carreta or Margarita's?

Definitely La Carreta.

Where can I get good sourdough on the Cambridge side of the river?

Nashoba Brook Bakery said they sell their breads at Whole Foods in Medford, and at the Cambridge WF locations at Fresh Pond, Prospect, and River streets. They also indicated the Star Markets in Cambridge should have it.

No outlets in Sommerville currently.
