Best hot dogs & onion rings on the Westside?
I love the onion rings at Swingers in Santa Monica, so so good!
Bachelorette party - restaurant suggestions
Any suggestions for a great place to have a bachelorette dinner party in the Westchester/Santa Monica/West LA area? It would be on a Sunday, probably end of June, with at least 6 people attending, maybe up to 12. I’m hoping to find a somewhat quiet place where the food is great but not over the top expensive (maybe a range of $15-30 per entrée), allows champagne and cake to be brought in, with a good group atmosphere. Any help would be great, especially any suggestions as to what to do afterwards if the bride to be still wants to continue the night!
Baked rigatoni with sweet Italian sausage?
I recently had a fabulous meal in the Bay area and I'm hoping I can find something similiar in my neighborhood! I had baked rigatoni with sweet Italian sausage in a meat sauce topped with Italian cheeses. It was homemade pasta (huge rigatoni tubes) with molten cheese on top and amazing sausage/sauce. Mouth watering good! Any place in the Venice, Santa Monica, West LA area you can recommend that has this?!
Blue Stove at Nordstroms in Santa Monica Place
I've been to Blue Stove once and I really want to go back. Their banana chocolate creme brule is out of this world! Everything was great and their service was amazing.
Xino Has The Best Dim Sum In Santa Monica
I haven't heard good things about Xino (both their food and service). This will not be one of my tries!
Zengo - New Santa Monica Place masterpiece
I ate here yesterday for lunch (my 3 bosses took me out). We had two orders of the chicken tandoori, two orders of the calamari salad, a volcano roll, yukka fries, duck and shrimp fried rice, and the Peking duck tacos. My favorites were the calamari salad and fried rice but everything was delicious. Are the small portions worth the high price? Not if you're on a budget but if you have the money to spend I'd recommend going here. (The chicken tandoori consisted of a breast of chicken with some toppings on a place and it goes for $12. Insane if you think about it but since lunch was on my bosses I had no problem eating it!) I'd like to go back for lunch by myself and just order the short rib sliders - I saw plates of this go out and there are two sliders with some fries. Perfectly reasonable for 1 person for lunch, especially with the 20% off coupon I have.
Good, Hearty, Authentic Italian Restaurant on the Westside?
I like Vito Restaurant on Ocean Park Blvd in Santa Monica. They have an incredibly delicious chopped shrimp in pink sauce over linguine dish and their tiramisu is incredible. Having a 30% discount card also doesn't hurt. :) You'd have to ask for it when you get there and you can use it on future meals.
Dense waffles?
I had these waffles at a hotel in Seattle where they were dense and had a great flavor, almost on the sweet side. Wish I had taken a photo of them! I fell in love with them and am not sure where to go to try to find something similar. The few times I have ordered waffles since then they have been the typical fluffy/non descript waffles. I read about Shaky Alibi and wanted to know if there were any other places closer to Venice/Santa Monica. Thanks!

Blood Orange... Anything! What's Good?
I haven't tried this place yet but it's on my list: Girasole Restaurant & Takeout on Larchmont Blvd. I read on yelp that they have a tasty blood orange cake that some people have raved about.

Best French Toast in LA
I'm a fan of French Toast but not mushy French Toast where it seems like it was underdone. Which would you say is less mushy, Griddle Cafe or Square One?
French scrambled eggs?
I had a delightful breakfast of french scrambled eggs at a bed and breakfast and wanted to know if there were any breakfast places around here (in the West LA/Santa Monica area) that made these. I'm a horrible cook otherwise I might try to make them myself. I know that they had cream in them and I imagine that's why they tasted so good! Any recommendations would be great, thanks!
Cheap eats in Laguna Beach?
Oops, thanks. I think we'll try House of Big Fish and Ice Cold Beer :)
Cheap eats in Laguna Beach?
My friend, her son (14 years old), and I will be going to Pageant of the Masters on July 31 and wanted to know any inexpensive yet tasty places to eat for dinner before hand. We aren't familiar with Laguna Beach so any suggestions would be great, thanks!
Bars with patios?
Thanks so much for these links! I found Wokcano which has an outdoor patio on the second floor in Santa Monica. Will check this out on my lunch hour! :)

Bars with patios?
Oh cool!! I work near this place but never knew they had a patio! Thanks so much!
Bars with patios?
I’m looking for bars in the West LA/Santa Monica/Hollywood area that have outdoor patios we can escape to if it’s too loud inside. I’m part of a social group (averaging 10-15 people per meetup) where we go to a different bar every Saturday (from 9:30pm on) and lately the bars we’ve been to have been so loud that we can’t hear each other. I know finding a fun bar that’s quiet is nearly impossible and since it’s getting warmer I thought places with patios might be a good option. We've been to Cat and fiddle and Brennan's but any other places like this would be great. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Looking for Italian and Mexican restaurants in Santa Monica
I like Gilberts El Indio for Mexican (cash only place) and Vito on Ocean Park Blvd for Italian.
Suggestions of bars/lounges from West LA to Hollywood
Sorry..
1. Average about 10-15 who show up on any given Saturday
2. Meeting time is always 9:30pm, most show up around 10-10:30
3. Some favorites have been Gaslite, Air Conditioned Club, Arsenal, Lost and Found (we mostly go for more casual/divey place bars but every once in a while like to mix it up and go to a fancier place)
Suggestions of bars/lounges from West LA to Hollywood
I found a great post asking about bars/lounges and got some ideas but it was specific to Hollywood's red line. I'm part of a social group (most of us are in our 30's) and we hit up a bar/lounge every Saturday anywhere from the West LA/Santa Monica area up to Hollywood. I'm trying to keep a good variety but want to make sure the places we go have a non-elitist vibe, can be casual to dressy, easy to get into (no long lines) and roomy enough for our group (love finding places with scattered couches/seating/etc). Would like to find places that are more on the quiet side (ie: not having to talk right into someone's ear and STILL not hear them). Any help would be great, thanks!
Downtown Culver City for drinks?
Any recommendations for a nice quiet-ish place for drinks with a date in Culver City?

Just curious if there are any 24 hour places on Main Street in Santa Monica...thanks!
Non meltable snacks from Trader Joes?
I'm making a road trip with three friends to Vegas tomorrow and wanted to bring some yummy snacks and immediately thought of Trader Joes. Any suggestions?
Breakfast in Portland/Vancouver?
That's so great to hear!!! Hope you keep the recipe for their sausage and french toast! :)
Breakfast in Portland/Vancouver?
I always used to eat breakfast at the Rose City Cafe in the Portland airport when I visit my parents but my mom just told me that Beaches will be moving into their space next month. What places would you recommend? (I love french toast, pancakes, and tasty link sausage). This would have to be convenient on the way to Vancouver/Battle Ground, WA. Thanks!
Whole apple pie near Vancouver/Portland?
I'm hoping to find a great bakery or restaurant that sells whole apple pies. I like the traditional apple pies: great top and bottom crust and apples that aren't too mushy. If anyone ever had the apple pie at McCormick and Schmidts, this is the type I'm looking for. Any help would be great!
