I have numerous comfort foods. Today it is roasted, poached quince with thick cream. My kitchen is full of their heavenly aroma as I am poaching them right now!

I am an instinctive cook, so I cook as I go. My mother's recipe book is a well used and much loved book as it contains recipes from my childhood. I have my own recipes which are at last written down and filed in various folders, thanks to the insistence of my three daughters! I love Jill Dupleix (she writes like I think), Stephanie Alexander, Bill Granger and Delia Smith. These amongst others are a constant inspiration to my families meals.
