Chow Noodle House in Hilcrest

I recently stopped by the new noodle house on university in hilcrest and was extremely dissapointed by what I recieved. I ordered chow mein and my sister ordered pad thai noodle dishes and while the dishes were okay, the prices were absolutely staggering. From an inside source I heard the dishes cost .75 cents to make and the owner took the iniciative to charge 8$ for dishes that are good but by no means excellent. Has anyone else had the opportunity/misfortune to dine at this new spot in hilcrest?

Breakfast in SD

I definitely second Hob Nob Hill!! The old feel of the place is endearing and the food is consistently good, I especially love the coffee cake and omlettes there...but I would say breakfast is the only meal worth eating at Hob Nob Hill..the dinners are a bit bland...but the breakfasts are yummy!!

I also love Hash House a Go Go...although the portions at HH could feed a small country....but I do believe the food does not only look good, it tastes great. But the long lines are killer at 8AM...and no one loves to deal with something that hectic early in the morning.

SD - Been To Bombay Lately?

The owners of Bombay, Monsoon, and Masala are all related and in fact from India...so I think it is strange that the food would be so Americanized if all the owners grew up in India. Perhaps the food is from a different part of India? I'm no Indian-food pro, but I have eaten at both Bombay and Monsoon and found the food to be very good. I also heard the sister of the three siblings cooks for Masala...so perhaps the food tastes more like the authentic indian notjustastomach is use to? I have not eaten there but I would like to hear what others (who have eaten at all three) have to say about this. thanks! :)

Masala vs Monsoon for Lunch (SD)

Both are excellent-but I would argue the chef, Ashley, at Masala is more experienced with Indian cuisine. Wherever you end up-you're in for a delicious meal!!
