The fish tacos at Surf-n-Taco (a hole in the wall place in Ventura, CA). After dinner the missus and I watched the sun setting over the Pacific.
My current drink of choice:
Guinness. Or a mojito.
I really wish I could:
Go back in time and become a pastry chef. Maybe when I retire.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
My lasagna recipe. Make it the night before and you won't have to slave in the kitchen during the party itself.
My favorite comfort food:
Red cabbage, followed closely by brats and German potato salad.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Tops would be Coastal Flats in Fairfax, VA. It's nothing fancy, but the service is great, as are the food and drink. Next would be Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, VA. Yes, I realize they're both GAR establishments, but does that make it wrong?
My most tattered cookbooks:
Mark Bittman's "How to Cook Everything" and Shirley Corriher's "Cookwise" are probably tied for their tatteredness.
