Breaded Pork Tenderloin

Breaded pork tenderloins aren't true tenderloins. Not a whole bunch different than any other breaded meat found in many locales. Midwesterners just have a deep and undying love for deep fried pork products. Actually, a strong affection for all things deep fried.

538.com Burrito Bracket: Rancho Bravo

We've got lots of Mexicans in the Rogue Valley. These big city best of lists don't always ring true demographically. And I don't think Texas is that fond of burritos. :-)

Good KC neighborhoods/suburbs for foodies?

Teague's summed it up pretty well. Johnson County for schools; close in burbs-Fairway, Roeland Park, Mission, Prairie Village put you not far from the Plaza and Westport + Brookside-all good food areas.

What is American cuisine?

CFS=white? Pierogi=? I think that's reducing it a bit too far. it is a bit more complex than that.

Kansas City Style Hot Dogs

This is a new one for me. I'm 61, grew up in in KC and have never
heard of this variation. The brown mustard and sauerkraut yes, at ballgames, but swiss cheese?

Papa John's... Is it a cultural thing?

Our Round Tables are sit down places. Our Papa John's are carryout with (supposedly) superior ingredients. Papa Murphy's is better as far as chain carryout as far as I'm concerned.

A burger sandwich. Not a hamburger.

I'm just the opposite. I love the way spongy white bread forms a protective cocoon around a good greasy homemade burger.
Never been a fan of crust or toast and a bun is all crust. :)

Please explain this green bean casserole thing

Oh c'mon, Hill Food. Our KC Thanksgivings always had a variety of jello salads made by Aunts. No pretzels as ours always seemed to have marshmallows floating in suspension.

I wish I could relive those long gone days now. :)
