Looking for great food Sydney & Melbourne but . . .

Ciao,

Thank you so much for the information. My family (with 1 year old) and I will be visiting Melbourne and Sydney in a couple weeks from DC. Any other tidbits we should look out for

Melbourne and Sydney Child Friendly with Great Food?!?

Hello Foodies,

First of all to all the Aussies on the board I wanted to express my heartfelt best wishes to all who are impacted by the terrible wild fires north of Melbourne. It is very sad to hear that 200 have already passed and I feel horrible about traveling to visit when you are going through such a crisis.

My wife is going to be in a wedding in Melbourne, so we will be visiting for a couple weeks in Sydney and Melbourne. Would you be so kind as to recommend any child friendly treats? I am open to everything from hole-in-the-walls to gourmet. My number 1 is palate and kid-friendly (I have a 1 year old traveling with us).

Thank you so much for your help and best wishes.

Healthy/Tasty Lunches in Times Square for Prego

Hi Twiggles,

I am actually okay with any price range, but don't like a "stuffy" atmosphere. Food - I love all kinds, Italian, Japanese, American, Southern, Spanish... Sorry to not be specific, but if you could eat lunch right now in Times Square. Where would you go?

Favorite Restaurants in Manhattan

Hello all,

I know there are thousands of restaurants in Manhattan, so why is it so hard to choose my ideal dinner spots?

My idea dinner includes:

Great natural ingredients
Classy Casual Dining
Warm friendly wait staff
Cooked just right!
Not overly salty or bland. I like TASTE!

I really liked Lupa, which is a good example of what I look for in a restaurant. Also if you have been to places in SF, even the nicest places over there are pretty laid back with GREAT food.

I am from DC, which values stuffy service...

I have looked at the James Beard listings and found the following: Any good?

Terrance Brennan
Picholine
New York, NY

Floyd Cardoz
Tabla
New York, NY

Wylie Dufresne
WD-50
New York, NY

Gabriel Kreuther
The Modern

David Waltuck

A Voce
