Top 3 fine dining in Pensacola area?

Thank you for your comments. Are there really no independent fine dining places around there? Wow.

Top 3 fine dining in Pensacola area?

Please give me your votes for the top three fine dining restaurants in the Pensacola area. I'm ready for some good chow. Thanks in advance!

Birmingham - Favorite "cheap" eats/dishes?

One of my favorite lunch spots is Habanero's in Trussville (in the strip mall w/John's). Consistently quick, both food and service above average. Never had a bad experience there, lunch or dinner. Now trying to turn left out of the parking lot is a consistently BAD experience...

Yes, but only after 12:00 noon. Hope you have a great visit!

Birmingham - (reasonably) healthy eats?

The chef at icon has a flair for flavorful food that is clean and healthy. The green tomato soup, the salmon with soba noodles, the blueberry monster smoothie (breakfast/brunch), the farmer's salad (to which you can add grilled chicken, beef or shrimp), thai rice noodles, are all dishes I have had and loved. Not sure what is on the menu now, but maybe this will give you an idea anyway.

Birmingham - duck breasts?

Sysco has a cash and carry store on 1st Ave. South, alongside the greenspace south of the rr tracks. If they have them, they will most likely be frozen, but it's worth a call or visit just to see what they have there.

Dinner sounds good. What time should I be there? *grin*

Birmingham - duck breasts?

I happened to be in V. Richard's this morning, didn't see duck breasts but when I asked the meat guy, he said they do have them, 6-oz. breasts that come in a 4-pack. Since you're in Forest Park (if I remember correctly), this would be your closest option anyway. HTH

Birmingham - duck breasts?

Hmm. Perhaps Tria market, V. Richards, or Whole Foods (I've not seen duck breasts there personally, I'm just guessing). If no luck, then call Sysco cash and carry and see if they have any there.

Whatcha makin'?

Moving to Birmingham, AL and need lots of advice (long)

Just needed to make a correction to something sheilal posted above. The new restaurant at the Tutwiler, Icon, is not affiliated in any way with Kathy G (the caterer and operator of the cafe at the Museum). The Chef and owner at Icon used to work for Kathy G years ago and was exec chef at the Museum before opening G. He and his partner took over ownership of G from Kathy G within a year of opening. They closed G to open Icon last fall.
