Picked up a couple from Queen Street and Gladstone one...have to scan through atleast 10-15 case before I found acceptable quality ones...already had a couple as soon as I got home....they are really good ....makes you realize why you paid so much for it.... |
Nevy and punkyhunky...which stores did you'll go to? |
I'm still a huge fan of Pho Pasteur....never got a bad bowl of pho there and never stingy with the garnishes ,they seem to be the only place that still serves the saw herb.... Though I always go in the afternoon ...though that should not affect the flavour of the broth ...no matter what time you go....and service has never been an issue.... |

I asume they are part of the "mystery meat" ingredients.... I have had cow's udders barbecued and curried in India....as well as in Tacos in LA.... |

James Cristinian is right.....once its frozen....the head loses it umami factor..for me its all about the the head juice....and frozen makes it taste nasty....the tail will still be fine...just like shrimp Unfortunately I have to depend on my annual trip to California to enjoy these mudbugs... |

tygrr_lily ,how much did you pay for it? |
jayt90...thanks for the heads up and making the effort to call |

Checked 2 sobeys....the one on Bloor and Bathurst and the one on Bay and College...didn't find it in either...didn't bother to ask.... |

Thanks for the heads up. Lets hope Price Chopper has some this year,I rememeber they had like 6 for $9 last year. But it has to be the Indian/Pakistani stores where we will find them for sure in the coming weeks. Also to avoid long drawn discussions, there is a difference between Alphonso and "Ataulfo". |

Have you seen fresh Crawfish in the GTA before?? |

Looking for foam food containers +1 ....I have seen it too |

Chinese near Spadina and Dundas for the uninitiated LOl Kagemusha...I think you are confused....I go to HOG all the time....they don't have booths....as Justsayn pointed out....just a bunch of round and square tables...I know the layout like the back of my hands....they have 3 rows....two rows comprises of round tables and one row of square tables... |
Chinese near Spadina and Dundas for the uninitiated +1 for House of Gourmet...very consistent... Oh I just read OP's post again....this place is not quiet though and even an ant might have trouble squeezing through between tables... |
You’re absolutely right….It’s a very limited menu….this is a home catering style of a business…. OP was asking for Sinhalese and I know for sure this is Sinhalese run….. |
I know he does downtown and scarborough area....and to be honest whenever I want anything I ask my friend to order and I pick it up from my friend...Best thing would be to call him...also he does not have it showing on the the menu but he does a very stellar pork curry....which is what I order even if it is not on the menu....Now you got me craving for it :-) |
Just a heads up though....You have to call on Friday to order and then he delivers on Sunday....Thats the only day he delivers.... |
Try this...its a home delivery...my Sinhalese friend always orders from here ...says it reminds him of home cooked food |

Steeles & Warden - Best Restaurant For Take Out Dinner - Any Scrumptious Cuisine I agree...Metro Square is a good place to start from...as mentioned earlier, love the malay place....its called Lemon Grass...Try their Beef Brisket Curry...a very stellar dish.... |

Agreed,Stockyards is definitely the standout from the Toronto list...Great burgers and fried chicken...but not sure if it will be a standout for Guy...considering the fact he has been to hundreds of such places..... |
Davwud,I meant the Toronto places visited by Fieri.... |
I doubt any of the Toronto places will evoke the "money" or "bananas is good " response..... |
You must be thinking Man vs Food..... |
I have seen him do Roti at 2 different places and he has done pho as well..... |
