Passover Peanut Substitute?

I was in a health food store and I saw a product called Jungle Nuts. This nut tastes like a peanut, but grows on trees in the Amazon. I did some preliminary checking (please check with a Rabbi, anyway) and learned that this nut in its raw form does not fall into the kitnyiot category. So if you miss having peanuts during Passover, this may be a viable substitute since it is considered more nutrient rich (according to the distributors) than many nut varieties. BTW, it is a little pricey.

New Kosher Restaurants in the Five Towns

I wish them luck. How many variations on the same theme ( dairy cafe or fancy bagel/baguette shop) are needed in the 5 Towns? Maybe someone should open a pizza shop on Central Avenue. That could be a novel idea. Please excuse my cynicism, but it is time that some original new eating establishments open in the 5 Towns.

Tea for Two Cedarhurst

Restaurant owners sometimes blame consumers for their not doing well.
They should do their market research properly before opening a restaurant. Unsuccessful restaurant openings could be avoided. One example of not doing enough market research that I could think of is EJ's Pizza in West Hempstead (Long Island, NY). There already was an existing kosher pizza place (Hunki's) in West Hempstead. EJ's would have probably better off opening a meat fast food type of place (like Burger Nosh or Yossi's Grill). There is not a large enough kosher eating population in West Hempstead to support two kosher pizza places.
