Blue Bell ice cream now in Raleigh/Cary
klmonline, I think the air in San Francisco may have clouded your memory. Blue Bell isn't sold there. I therefore question the rest of your "facts".
Blue Bell ice cream now in Raleigh/Cary
It's at local Kroger stores. The Korger at Lake Pine and US-64 in Cary had a small selection hidden away in an end cap.
Weinberg's The Deli opened in North Raleigh
They finally have a web page http://www.weinbergsthedeli.com/
They also have cabbage rolls.
Best Fried Chicken in Raleigh/Wake County, NC
Joyce and Family is pretty good when it is hot from the kitchen.
Highly suggest avoiding Weinberg's Deli
I plan on giving them a few more weeks to get the kinks out.
As for being a "Jewish" deli, did your ruben come with cheese? If it didn't would you be complaining about that?
Yay!! How great to have this kind of deli!!
That is one of the most reasonable and well thought out posts that I have seen on the internet. Congratulations, you get it.
Tradewinds Coffee in Raleigh closing
Muddy Dog Roasters in Morrisville has been getting good press lately. They roast in small batches and every other Thursday they produce a light roast which is about as far from Starbucks as you can get. I haven't tried their product yet, but I'll be there in the morning.

Great breakfast in Campobello
Chowhound has the Dutch Plate in the wrong town, I corrected the town and zip code.
tamales anywhere in N.C.
The Kroger on Lake Pine and US-64 in Apex/Cary carries the same brand as Harris-Teeter. Kroger has chicken and H-T has beef. If you try these steam them for an hour. Skip the microwave instructions.
tamales anywhere in N.C.
Rancho Grande has good tortas and tacos also.
I recently found pretty good tamales in the frozen section at Harris Teeter on High House Road in Cary. La Cocina Mexican Restaurant on Lake Pine at US-64 in Cary/Apex is my dine out source. Both of these are in the husk, which is my preference.
Dinner Recs Needed in RTP (2011)
A place that would appeal to folks of varied tastes is Cafe Caturra on Davis Drive in Cary. Sandwiches, pizza, wine and beer. It's across the courtyard from Tribecca, mentioned above.
Help remembering the name of an "old timey" restaurant in the Piedmont area
If it were a buffet it could be the Old Place. It's in an old house south of Siler City. It's open Friday and Saturday for dinner and Sunday for lunch and dinner. They are also open for Thanksgiving.

Too late now, but make plans for next year if you like fresh lobster. St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Cary has a lobster lunch each October. Read about it at the link below.

Strange Pairings that Taste Uncommonly Good
The special at a local restaurant was a pool of whipped sweet potatoes topped with about 20 sauteed shrimp and then smothered with a country ham cream gravy. I liked it but for some reason my wife wouldn't try it. I asked the waitress a few days later how many other people had ordered it. She said I was the only one at her tables.
ISO Blue Bell Ice Cream in the Triangle
Rockingham and the mountain cities look like they are within the distribution area,
ISO Blue Bell Ice Cream in the Triangle
I like Homemade Vanilla myself.
Carrabba's has one or two flavors on the dessert menu. A 2007 thread found on the internet says that Piggly Wiggly in Pittsboro carries 10 or 15 flavors.
Where to eat near Cary Amphitheatre (Boothe)?
I third the Lucky 32 recommendation.
Ginger Asian Cuisine in the shopping center with Harris Teeter and Walmart.
Bosphorus Restaurant, 329 N Harrison Ave # A. It's the best Turkish food in Cary.
HAVANA GRILL at 404 West Chatham Street for cuban.
NY style deli opening soon in Chapel Hill
There was a news story about the decline of the Kosher Deli in NYC on one of the TV morning shows the other day. NYC has gone from many hundreds to barely 10 over the years. Dixdiner is correct, kosher would not work in practice here regardless what is said on this and other boards.
Country Ham for Christmas Dinner
You can try Benton's Ham's at Lucky 32 in Cary. The deviled eggs would give you the best sample of the ham.

The Meat House coming to North Raleigh
The Cary location is in Salt Box Village but it is in the space that the storage gadget store used to occupy.
Best Sandwich in the Triangle?
So much of visiting a restaurant is a personal experience. People have different tastes and perceptions of the same thing. Go yourself and tell us what you experience, not what you read on the internet.
Best Sandwich in the Triangle?
The Merritt BLT is a winner, I really like the flank steak ciabatta at the Food Factory. My winner is the croque monsieur at La Farm. Ham, cheese in toasted La Farm bread with mornay sauce on top. A little messy, but the cheese goodness from the gruyere and mornay have my mouth watering as I write this. It's regularly $5.95 but at brunch on weekends it's less than $7 including fruit salad and fried potatoes.
Jewish Deli-Triangle Area ??
Aren't you the one who reported that NY with Love was closed? Their web page is still up and according to the person that answered the phone, they are open until seven tonight. Posting crap about places being closed when it isn't true will cost them business and maybe cause them to close. Sorry for the vent.
Need help for tonight (birthday dinner) - Raleigh
Sitti doesn't have an actual steak, but they do have charred meat on the menu and a vegetarian should be in heaven. As a plus it is inside the beltline.

Recommendations for a tasty birthday cake near Morrisville?
I've had good cake from Once in a Blue Moon in Cary. http://www.bluemoonbakery.com/home.htm
On the whole I'd rather have, as SuzyQ recommends, a tart from La Farm.
Raleigh: al fresco pizza?
"Lilly's is out because last time we were there (don't mean to be harsh) it was quite dirty and they got our order wrong/service was bad and it was hard to even get some drinking water."
That implies you have been there before and probably enjoyed it or you wouldn't have returned. If you did enjoy Lilly's on previous visits, give them another chance. The last time you were there could have been the night that half the staff called in sick or the owners new baby was up all night sick. Even the best restaurant can have a bad night and the likelihood of a pizza place having a bad night is greater.
Breakfast close to RDU?
No, it's on Davis at Morrisville-Carpenter. A word of warning, Morrisville Carpenter was blocked at 54 yesterday.
Breakfast close to RDU?
I'm an over easy kind of guy and Brig's does that better than anybody around here. They cook them in a two egg sized pan instead of on a flat top .We ate at the Morrisville Deli today and my wife's flat top cooked eggs were crispy around the edges. They do have omelets and other dishes. BTW. my pastrami ruben was great.
RTP Lunch and After Work Hot Spots
It would help if you'd tell us where you are staying and what part of RTP you are working in.
Western NC -Dillsboro-Sylva Area
There is a soda shop across the street from the train station in Dillsboro that makes "real" shakes. They may not be dinner but they are certainly refreshing on a hot day. The picture below is the store front.
