Wine Bistro Near Airport?
the other plce that occurs to me is Todd's in Henderson; it is relatively close to the airport and is a pretty wine centric place; also is in a strip mall (not that that is that much of an identifying factor in LAS).
Blue Fin Tuna / Expensive Dining
You can get blue fin tuna at blue ribbon sushi. We ate there last night for restaurant week and it was on the special sushi menu. We did not add it to the restaurant week menu but we did have a very good big eye tuna dish as an addition.
Is Todd's Unique Cuisine really good?
Well, I think restaurant experiences are pretty individual, which is why I didn't respond to your earlier posting. I've eaten at Todd's numerous times and have not had the experience you did...to the contrary. The food has been consistently very good to excellent, and the service is generally exceptional. Most of the servers have been there for years, and the service is warm and attentive. (I do agree with you about the room, to a degree...generally we eat at the bar, but I find the booths not as comfortable as I would like). The salads are generally terrific, as are the soups; and there are really interesting and good vegetarian options especially on Thursday, when they are trying to feature those.
When I say that I think restaurants are a really personal choice, I am reflecting as well on your statement about Rosemary's. Many, many people loved Rosemary's...but I would not count myself among them. No need to go into the reasons, especially when the restaurant is no longer open, but simply to note that different things are going to strike different folks.
LAS is also a place where neighborhood places (like Todd's and Rosemary's) are not very common, unfortunately (two others that come to mind that are still open are Vintner Grill and Marche Bacchus). For me, Todd's meets the requirements of a very good neighborhood restaurant: consistency, enough change in the menu to keep my attention, and a reasonable price point. I am sorry your experience wasn't better, but can only assure you that others have had different takes!
Recs near Hilton at Marble Arch [London]
My husband and I will be in London next week, and will be meeting a friend who is staying at the Hilton at Marble Arch. Looking for recommendations near there for a restaurant that is (of course) delicious, fun, comfortable with good wine and cocktails, for around 75-100 dollars a person (of course, less is also good!). We are pretty open to any cuisine, but I want to keep it relatively in that neighborhood, as we will be coming from elsewhere, and I don't want our friend to have to travel too far before or after dinner. Thanks very much

4 Nights - e, L'Atelier, Aburiya Raku ... ?
Sage is terrific. I would highly recommend it Todd's is actually our local and we probably are there at least twice a month. I get your point but will say that Todd's always delivers on execution, good ingredients and very good service. But if you are looking to try something new, sage is grat.
I honestly prefer to order off the menu at raku rather than the kaiseki. We did do the kaiseki once and it was terrific but it was simply way too much food, and I prefer the ability to customize my meal a bit more.
Best choices in/near Canary Wharf? [London]
I'll be in Canary Wharf for a week of meetings, and was looking for folks' recommendations; I know that this is a less interesting area to eat in than many others, but will be having pretty lengthy meetings which may restrict adventuring. Any tips gratefully received!
Dining Options in Henderson
Todd's is great as is Settebello. There is good thai at Pin Kaow on Eastern, although nothing beats Lotus of Siam. Layers Bakery up on Green Valley Parkway does a nice breakfast and lunch, and has yummy treats to go (it's counter ordering, but good food). Crazy Pita at the District has solid middle eastern food.
I would avoid Bratalian; I had a very bad experience there, and don't think that was an isolated incident. I think Gaetano's is far better and also Terra Verde in the GVR is not bad for Italian food.

Wedding Reception in Las Vegas- Ideas??? Help!
We did an event like this at the golf club Bali Hai, which is on the south strip. It's a very pretty club, with good food, and multiple rooms to chose from; additionally, most of the rooms have an outside patio. Our event (a wedding anniversary) went well. Another similar club, but not on the strip, is the Rio Secco club, which is also very pretty.
I think that the size of your group, and the live music, is going to make it difficult to find a strip restaurant to accomodate you, although I could be mistaken. I suspect you may have to look at some of the actual reception venues in LV, or potentially a non-restaurant space in a hotel. I'll keep thinking to see if any other spots come to mind...
Business Dinner Recommendations?
For the Mandalay Bay person, I'd consider Verandah at the Four Seasons next door; really nice menu, great service, and you can sit outside. I think the bulk of their entrees come in under $40. Plus, they are upgrading the wine list (overdue) and the new list is very good and has a lot of good values.
For the second poster, you might consider BOA, which is a steak house, but has a great location and some interesting variety. Other choices that might be sufficiently conservative and yet interesting would include Aureole at the MB, Nobhill at the MGM, and Sage at Aria... Sage might push your price point but is a great restaurant. Bouchon at the Venetian would also be right in that range and is consistently great. and not scary.

Bar Masa Locals Deal
Just went to BM last night for RW menu. Quite good and reasonably filling although we also did a few supplementary pieces and a chu-toro role. We did the sushi and the sashimi; both were excellent. It was pretty empty while we were there, so I expect they might keep the local deal going for a while.
Best seafood in vegas
We eat at the bar at Todd's frequently; it's very friendly and the bartender, Martin, is a nice guy. It's quite relaxed at the bar, not that it isn't in the restaurant proper.
Rosemary's gone...where should we go?
On the west side two good choices are marche Bacchus ( with a new chef and getting great reviews) and vintner grill. In Henderson , Todd's is very good although closed for vacation aug 1 thru aug 21. I think sage is terrific as well and that is a pretty easy strip location. We always valet at the mandarin oriental and then stop at their bar for a night cap.
I've never eaten at table 10 but have heard some very good recent reviews based on a new chef. That might have some of the southern touches that were a part of rosemary's menu.
One Night in Las Vegas
Depends what you are looking for. Todd's Unique in Henderson (which is pretty close to table 34) is a lot better in the genre of sort of upscale american cuisine. Raku is a great restaurant for small Japanese dishes; some of the best tofu you will ever come across. If you want Thai, Lotus of Siam is outstanding.

At a loss...
Go to Sage. It has the elements you are looking for. Raku is terrific but I think sage will provide more of the total package of room, service and food.
Need help for upcoming trip... head swimming after reading this board!
i would agree that Cut is my favorite steakhouse. Sage is outstanding, so good choice. Other recommendations that you might consider: China Poblana at the Cosmo for your late lunch...fun and interesting food. Another choice might be PUB, which is surprisingly tasty. In the cosmo, there is also a 20.11 lunch at Milos, which is a great deal (three course, very good). We had a nice meal at Scarpetta in the Cosmo; we've also eaten at Comme Ca, but for french bistro/brasserie food, I would still pick Bouchon. Have a great time.

quick! - help me narrow my choices for dinner on the strip on saturday
The mexican place across from the Wynn is very casual...most of your other choices are more upscale. Mix does have great views and outdoor tables, but I found the food disappointing. I liked the food at Scarpetta. Comme Ca had good food but was exceedingly rackety. Aureole is a bit more formal than your other choices.....depends what you are looking for and how much you want a more quiet atmosphere where people can hear one another, or a more festive, but louder environment...

Any Recommendations for Special Occasion, Private Dining for a Group of 12???
sage would be high on my list but id also consider bouchon, scarpetta, maybe bartolatta at the wynn, although it may exceed your budget.
Craft Cocktails or Mixology Cocktails
The bar at American Fish is a really attractive setting, but I would check the cocktail menu on line. The bar at Mix in the Hotel at Mandalay Bay is also a very fun room. ...
But some of the best cocktails I've had recently have been at the Chandelier Bar in the new Cosmo. Great venue, different cocktails on every level; the manager, Marina, is a really good mixologist. Excellent service as well.

London Dining Help
Had dinner at Moti Mahal last night before going to the New London theater, and it was very good. Very delicious Indian food, nice atmosphere and service, and it's just steps from the theater. We had some terrific starters, including the chaat, some stuffed peppers with chutneys, and some fried okra and lotus root, and then a very nice lamb curry. Interesting cocktails as well.

Where can I buy preserved lemons in Las Vegas?
Valley Wine & Cheese on Horizon Ridge carries preserved lemons.
London help requested
Next week we will be taking out some friends who live near south wimbledon (but convenient to the train) , and are going to meet us at the restaurant of our choice. They are vegetarians, but the restaurant doesn't have to be so long as it is vegetarian friendly. They've asked us to pick although we are not natives (they are not food people) and I thought I'd come here for recommendations for somewhere delicious, where we can have excellent food and wine and enjoy a relaxed (neighborhood) type atmosphere, and where they can have food that suits them as vegetarians. Price is not a big cocern. We will be staying in the Canary Wharf area, but we are intending to try to meet them somewhere sort of in between. Thanks very much for help with a very specific inquiry
e not available Sunday and Monday - what to do?
One place I'd consider would be sage. There are always a number of interesting vegetarian dishes on the menu as well as some fin fish. they are also quite accomodating. I don't know about the non-alcoholic drinks, but they do have a nice bar and the bartenders have seemed pretty creative when I have been there.
I'd also check with Joel Rubchon to see if they could accomodate you; it's a great experience, and I would assume with notice, they could make sure to meet your wife's needs. It's a definite splurge, however.
Finally, every restaurant at the wynn has a vegetarian and/or vegan menu available at this juncture. There are some very nice venues at the Wynn, including the Country Club and Tableau, which might be worth checking out.
2 nights in vegas - Is Fine Dining on the Strip for $100 per person possible?
A lot depends on how much and what you drink. Without alcohol I think you may be able to do this at sage ( which also has a nice bar menu of smaller bites), bouchon (you might also consider breakfast), Scarpetta (which you have in NYC, so might not be interesting). There are also sometimes special prix fixes that might work. I'd check taste of Wynn. MGM also sometimes does these, at nob hill, for example.
Good eats in Galveston, TX ?
Mosquito Cafe is a great find. Sky Bar for sushi was pretty solid. I've been to Paco & Rudy's and Saltwater Grill....kind of pricy, not great. Unfortunately, you are a bit of a captive audience there, and the food seems to reflect that.
Popular Nice Restaurant - dont feel like you are eating in a mall
well, if you are talking about off the strip, marche bacchus is your ticket (although it is in a strip mall). Delicious food in a very pleasant lakeside setting.
On the strip, I like Sage for that feeling; also Okada has a great room and setting. One of the issues I have with B&B and with Delmonico is that "mall-ish" feeling.

Screw Nobu: Does good Casino-Sushi Exist?
Sen is very good but not really cab material; if you had a rental car, I'd say go for it, but the cost of the cab would be prohibitive.
Okada is a beautiful room and the service is far better than Nobu; the sushi is solid, not , at least in my experience, awe-inspiring.
There is a new Bar Masa in the Aria. Local critics have raved about both the quality and the prices, which appear to be very high, even by LV standards. I have not yet tried it (will be in the next few months) so can't speak to it personally, but have to say that the positive comments on the quality of the fish are tempting.
Had a pretty decent meal at Social House in Crystals recently, and it also looked like they did a very interesting happy hour in the bar area. Crystals is fun for people watching and the service at Social House was good the most recent time I was there.

Henderson Italian
Suggest you read some recent Yelp reviews on Bratalian....
Gaetano's is very good; the food and the service are solid. If you like pizzas, I'd highly recommend Settebello, which is terrific Naples-style pizza, some nice salads and antipasto, but no pasta.
