Looking for feedback regarding "The Black Duck" at 122 East 28th Street

No one we know has ever been to the Black Duck. We're looking for a relaxing dinner - good food, good atmosphere, moderately priced from Union Square up through the East 50's.

Any comments/reviews for WINE:30?

Looks relatively new. Located at 41 East 30th Street (between Madison & Park). Just walked by on way to work.

Cheap to Moderate UWS

For italian: Gennaro on Amsterdam Avenue (btwn 92nd & 93rd St) - cash only. And, also, across the street is Lisca.

What's a good breakfast place near 33rd St PATH?

A bit of a walk but - Highline Cafe on Ninth Avenue between 30th and 31st.

Lunch near Penn Station: help, please

It's not fancy, but is consistent and reliable and within walking distance. It's called the Highline Cafe and is located on Ninth between 30th and 31st. It's a notch above a diner, and their ingredients are always fresh, fresh, fresh. Everything from scrambled eggs to grilled chicken breast with goat cheese, sundried tomato and arugula on multi grain and everything in between.

Co. Pizza- Too Tarte

I, too, was looking forward to Co. Pizza after its opening. Unfortunately, I was similarly disappointed. The pizza was dry and ingredients sparse. In comparison, I was recently at Arturo's on W. Houston at Thompson. No comparison. Arturo's pizza was far superior.

Affordable Greek in Manhattan

The name of the restaurant is Pylos. I haven't been but I've heard great things.

Dinner with your best friends. Where to go?

FABULOUS food, reasonably priced and great for conversation. Where to go - anywhere in Manhattan. All cuisines, especially Italian or New American.

passover dinner in a restaurant

Had passover dinner at Lattanzi last night. They could not have been nicer. The prix fixe dinner was wonderful. Striped bass and baby lamb chops, with an appetizer of chicken soup and almond cookies for dessert. Instead of bread, they served garlic buttered matzoh. We requested slow service, and it was honored. We were in no rush as we weren't going to theatre. We had a wonderful and memorable evening.

2009 - exploring different neighborhoods. Starting with dinner in Flatiron/Gramercy Park. What's your favorite?

Love the Tavern Room. And I really enjoy their options for "tastes" of champagne and wine. It makes for great tasting flights.

Brunch Suggestions?

If you're willing to venture a little south, Cookshop (156 Tenth Avenue @ 20th Street) has a wonderful brunch.

RGR,

You're right to presume such. But previous recommendations (e.g., prix fixe lunch at Fleur de Sel and EMP) have lived up to your reviews:)

A Sunday afternoon - where to relax over tea and coffee in midtown?

Around 4pm - in between lunch and dinner. Looking for a casual atmosphere serving wonderful tea and coffee. Great for relaxing and conversation. Midtown is best, but anywhere from the 20's to 60's on the East Side works.

Perilla - a must try? Others recommendations West Village, Tribeca, Soho?

Casual mid-week dinner for under $175 for two. Looking for wonderful food and not too noisy.

What makes New York City so wonderful is its extraordinary number of incredible restaurants and cuisines. And, best of all, if you look around a corner or two - neighborhood gems will emerge. What are your favorites?

My Quest to try Every Cupcake in NYC

Eleni's has wonderful cupcakes and mini cupcakes. We think they're the BEST!!!! They also have beautifully decorated cookies. They ship all over in addition to having a New York retail store located in the Chelsea Market at 75 Ninth Avenue.
