Catch, Red Barn and I'd add Oak Island's Pelican Seafood to the list. Recently had perfect whole fried black sea bass there.

I find the bar at wings-and-beer places to be romantic, so Kilwin's maybe not so out there. Agreed on Deluxe. Anyone else out there want to share what they consider the most romantic table in the Cape Fear area? One restaurant table, bar, bench you'd love to sit at with your honey on V Day?

Great choices. But I should be a little more specific. I'm wondering about actual tables. Say, the little table for two by the fireplace at Restaurant XX or the table overlooking the magnolia tree at Restaurant YY. Obviously, the food and service should be good, too. And if the food is romantic -- a great chocolate dessert or sexy oyster dish -- all the better. Places don't have to be upscale.

Somebody told me today they had a fabulous Italian meal at a place named Dino's on Ramsey Road. Fat shrimp on fettucini Alfredo, deep lasagna, run by two Italian-American brothers. The friend could't say enough about the food and service.
