Too many to really name, but a few of my favorites include a black squid ink risotto at Mona Lisa in Stamford. The calamari and linguini at Lianna's in Fairfield is so tender and amazing and is usually always on the menu. And to this day I still remember a rich, meaty, suculant lamb chop dish I ate at Emeril's (the original) in NO about 10 years ago. And just about EVERYTHING I ate in Melbourne Australia was great.
My current drink of choice:
Red wine with old world class. And you don't need to look only at the "old world" for that style. NY North Fork Reds are excellent examples of balanced, earthy, age worthy wines. (Something that CA and Australia really can't say these days.)
I really wish I could:
Open a great restaurant with local food and local wine where I didn't need to worry about profit. (I guess that's why I play powerball!)
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Italian. I make a great bolognese sause and an awesome lasagne al'forno in the Emilia-Romagna style
My favorite comfort food:
Burger. 80/20. Ground Fresh. Salt. Pepper. Charchol. Tomato. Touch of dijon mustard. Bun. Period. And I will never turn down a hunk of cheese wheter it be cheddar, brie, gouda, goat, or what have you.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Pasta Nostra. Liana's. Places where Bill Taibe worked/works: Relish , Napa Style, Le Farm.
